Anyone else have the feeling that Columbus runs over either the Leafs or Boston next round? They seem to have that momentum going that can't be stopped, like the Kings in 2012 - Rangers99
Leafs, maybe. Boston, no way. |

He old coach just got hired there. Some of the most trusted hockey reports in the sport have linked him to the state of Florida and the whole tax thing is a factor. So... - tomburton99

I mean he's not going to Florida. Nothing to worry about... |

If the cap goes up by 5 million next year, they will have about 18 million before they sign RFas. None of those guys are going to break the bank, but they can't pay 2 players 10 million. Maybe Panarin does take a "old coach no tax discount" I just don't see how they get both. Bob is the guy that team really needs too. |

Vegas looks like it isn't a one trick pony. All the people who didn't like them last year and said it was just luck, not really. McPhee might have actually found his mojo in Vegas
Smartest move was not re-signing Neal |

I hope the Tor/Bos game is nastier tonight. |

Neither team looks all that good. Boston a little more surprising. I thought they would dominate this series. |

they have a great team, talent everywhere
they'd probably like to sign Karlsson somehow too, but their cap is pretty rough with William Karlsson not signed |

Really think there isn't much chance of that. If they sign Bob for over 8 million, I'm not sure where the extra money is to sign him. You'd think he'd at least want to make more than Stone. I was pretty shocked when I looked at their capfriendly. I really thought they had more space that that. - 2sticks1puck
I'm not so confident that they end up with Bob. It's logical, kinda, but they'd be better off spending the money on Panarin. Lou's contract is bad and Reimer's is not much better. They basically have the cost of Bobrovsky tied up in two terrible goaltenders.
If they are serious about signing both guys they're going to have to move someone like Hoffman, Trocheck, or Huby out the door to make some room. |

Bruins defense looks slow
I can't believe McAvoy did it again the other night, all the crying they did when McAvoy hit Chytil into Rask and Rask got hurt and he does the same thing the other night hitting Tavares into Rask
he needs to learn to play some defense |

Could certainly happen. Torts has that team fired up. I was also wondering if Panarin changes his mind if they keep going. - mdw7413
Panarin and Kaapo already said they want to be Islanders. |

Mark Stone is an absolute stud. If he would've signed an extension, it hurts that the Isles weren't too far away from landing him. He would have been an absolute savage playing for Trotz. |

Yeah thats the one downside. Either they get real creative or they lose him for nothing |

I was laughing at that too.
Yeah, I was going to write the same thing about their defense. It is getting exposed badly. |

Yeah they gave up a pretty good D prospect, but knowing Stone was going to sign an extension, it was a smart move |

They built a great team and dare I say it, might be the cup favorite right now. They better win soon though, because their outlook is going to get ugly sooner than later. Trading picks like they were TP for middling guys like Tatar might really come back to bite them. |

They'll get him in. They can dump Eakin and maybe one of Colin Miller or Schmidt.
I've been beating the "Trade Beauvillier+ to the Knights for Tuch" drum for a few months now, but I think they'll be able to make the room elsewhere. |

The funniest part of that deal, for me, was that they got everything agreed upon and then at the last minute McPhee told Dorion that he wasn't pulling the trigger unless Stone agreed to an extension. This was on deadline day |

I think they will be alright. Really the only impact forwards that are up there in age right now are Patches and Stastny |

I picked them to win the cup when the playoffs started, still hoping it happens. I love that team, they just don't stop coming at you.
Columbus could surprise a lot of people. They had 3 regular d-men out, so the rest could help them more than you think. |
