Did you think that about Vegas? At least Seattle is near the northern border - tbreinold
I figured Vegas would get a ton of visitors, so even if there wasn't a big constant fan base they would see ticket sales from tourists. It appears though they have a great fan base.

I think Vegas was a great idea but I wonder if they will eventually die out. Kind of like other attractions/shows out there. Run their course and like 10 years from now have about 4k people going to games.
Is hockey even popular out there? I thought it sounded strange when they decided on Seattle. Can't say I know much about that area though. - mdw7413
Couple WHL teams in that general area. Seattle, Tri-City, Portland all have teams in the dub. It's a great sports town in general so I bet hockey will be pretty popular there.
Niners because in the early 70s- my older brother was a big cowboys fan and in 71 they played the Niners ( staubach's coming out party) in the playoffs- I went against my brother that day and stayed. The 80's really worked out for me.

As long as they're good there shouldnt be an issue. If and when they regress i could see the well drying up very fast. Unless somehow the vegas tourism is able to prop the team up by itself

I think that was a town starved for a sports team and now they're going to have two. It was probably lucky for the Knights that they got in there before the Raiders did. Football will always be more popular but at least the Knights are going to have a lot of real die-hard fans now.
I used to watch the Mets (every game) but I gave up baseball after 2006 and the Madoff scandal.
I tried basketball for about a season back in the early 2000's but that was a bad time to watch the Knicks. Allan Houston, Sprewell and an aging Ewing is all I remember.
I stopped watching football after the Tuck rule game.

I just think of rain and homeless people when I think of Seattle
could be worse if you are born after 1986 and root - Mets, Knicks, Islanders and Jets. - Greschnergy#4
Yeah I don't know how people do that. Luckily I've been able to at least have the Yanks and Giants to keep me sports-sane. I couldn't possibly care any less about basketball, but it seems like the Knicks are a real dumpster fire from the little I hear.
