I share the same thought process as well. I think Zegras is fantastic but doesn't fit a Sabres team need as much as the aforementioned. I think I would rank them Turcotte, Cozens, Dach but if we get either of them I'll be happy. Having a 1-2-3 punch down the middle of Eichel-Mittelstadt-Cozens/Turcotte/Dach we will possibly have the best centre depth this franchise as ever had. - Pegullaville
I think we could see them in the NHL in 1 year, with the option to use any of them on the wing. A good 200-foot game is of enormous value to this team right now.

Outside chance but Cozens does have the NHL size to possibly be ready day 1 but that is very, very ambitious. I really don’t want to get my hopes up with any predictions because for all we know all 3 of those guys could be gone by 7. |

Cozens is the one I can't see slipping. Wasn't long ago that I was hoping for Boldy. Moving a tier higher is nice.

Could still take Boldy at 7 for all we know.

Wouldn't shock me. He's a solid fit and as fun as pre-draft rankings are, I don't take them that seriously.

you don't s$$t of what you think you know, my guy is right there on the bench and it's his job to handle day to day for the players. He see's it and hear's it all the time. when you on the staff, it's kinds hard not see it daily. - SABRES 89
Maybe the blabbermouth should be fired. He certainly is not doing a service to the Sabres by letting loose with things that should stay in the locker room. Fire that guy cause acting like a middle school tell all is a bad attitude for a support person. |

So I wonder if this Ruotsalainen kid is related to Reijo Ruotsalainen (damn that's a lot of letters to type). Reijo was an NHL player in the 80's and man could he skate, great ability and he had some good years over here. They come from the same town and have the same height- 5'8" so guessing not his father but maybe some relation.
And I read somewhere that Arttu Ruotsalainen is eligible for this draft. |

Blabbermouth means you talk behind everyone's back, he's not doing that. Been with the team a while now. |

He is unrelated, and he's not eligible for the draft. He's 21. |

Interesting article by John Vogle, talking about what fans may expect from Casey Mittlestat in terms of development and production...using Oli Jokinen as a model given their same age of 19 as a rookie...
If those comparisons continue into Mittelstadt’s sophomore season, Sabres fans may want to prepare to be disappointed. Jokinen, the No. 3 overall draft pick in 1997, didn’t excel until his fifth season in the NHL at age 24.
There were other comparables used that reinforce a range of 3 - 7 year curve in reaching 2nd or 1st line production ...
ROR & Ryan Johanson = 3 years
Mike Fisher and Sean Couterier = 6, 7 yrs respectively.
This underscores the importance of sheltering Mitts for another 2, 3, 4 years by having a capable 2C take the weight of his shoulders. We have a good future with him, just takes more time time and experience.

It was another good night last night. Continue to pull for all the underdogs to win.
Dallas, Colorodo, Vegas are the keys AND of course The Peg |

Don’t forget Columbus. If they make ECF that also works. |

Casey is going to be fine but he has to decide if he wants to be serious about taking the next step and getting his body right so he’s ready for a full load
I’m not worried about him he will wake up

this is fun... watching all the players we traded away do well on other PLAYOFF teams while us Buffalo fans root for underdogs to win so we get a better pick from ST. Louis...
I am just done with all of this. I want to trade Risto, but only if we are getting a true #2 center in return and i am talking a player that is going to put up 50-60 pts or more.. I swear if we trade Risto for future's or picks I will start rooting for T.O or Boston.. The 2 teams that I have hated my entire life... |

Agreed.
Casey did mention 2 things to work on over the summer, building strength and developing g his shot further.
I did like the fact he worked hard on his 2 way game, if he keeps it up he will be a terrific 2C...just likely 2 -3 seasons from now though |
