Well that'll be a "no".
I really feel we could use a nice solid vet or two back there, but if he's starting to sh!t the bed... |

I do like the pavelski idea...at 34 he is up there, but he's a helluva character guy from everything I've read and heard...and he did manage to pot 38 goals this season...there's your two or three year fill-in No. 2 center while mitts develops |

how many games will bogo play next year?...last year he hits 65, one of three times he played 64 or more in the last eight seasons...risto hasn't played less than 73 games in any of his five full-time seasons - Michael Pachla
Yeah, counting on Bogo is no bueno. GMJB should use the late first to acquire a guy to play with Dahlin.
Keeping Risto doesn't solve this problem: Montour and Risto both occupy the same role as a 2nd pair RD with PP time. Neither are suited to play with Dahlin imo. A Risto trade allows us to fix and issue elsewhere, and we can get a steady RD more suited to a safe shutdown role with that later 1st |

Are you saying an 18th OA gets a 1st pairing/number 2 Dman?
I would find that hard to believe myself, especially when it took an NHL- ready Dman in Guhle AND the likely 22nd OA for a 2nd pairing dman |

It did feel like JB acquired Montour as Risto's replacement because the opportunity presented itself early.
JB has a lot of work to do to fix the composition of this team. Even you like some of the individual pieces, they simply don't fit together well.

Doesn't have to be a traditional first pair guy. Just someone to let Dahlin do his thing and be responsible |
