Are you saying an 18th OA gets a 1st pairing/number 2 Dman?
I would find that hard to believe myself, especially when it took an NHL- ready Dman in Guhle AND the likely 22nd OA for a 2nd pairing dman - IonSabres
Dahlin spent the majority of his time with Bogo. Lot of options to upgrade there, without paying a huge cost.

I do like the pavelski idea...at 34 he is up there, but he's a helluva character guy from everything I've read and heard...and he did manage to pot 38 goals this season...there's your two or three year fill-in No. 2 center while mitts develops - Michael Pachla
I am on board.... Now convince Botts. |

It did feel like JB acquired Montour as Risto's replacement because the opportunity presented itself early.
JB has a lot of work to do to fix the composition of this team. Even you like some of the individual pieces, they simply don't fit together well. - Lunaion
The person who will play with Dahlin isn't on this team. As much as I like Risto, I don't see the fit anymore |

Conditions:
Blues pick is 11-19: Sabres keep it, give the Sharks pick
Blues pick is 20-31: Anaheim has the choice to take it. Realistically will take it if it's higher (closer to 1) than the Sharks pick - TheSabresTaco
The above is correct. So this is what we want:
-STL to lose before the conference finals
-One or more of CLB, DAL, LV or COL to make it to the conference Finals
- LV would play COL in the next round if both make it through RD1 = great!!
So, it's possible we could pick 17-19, depending on the above |

Where are you getting this from?
Do you have a source ?
They seed picks 16 - 31 based on each round, not by Conference Finals |

That's not true. They only re-seed conference finals and cup finalists.

Incorrect. Picks are determined by regular season points and tie-breakers until the conference finals. Conference final participants are re-seeded to 28-31.
Example - if DAL was determined to have the 17th pick after the regular season:
They would pick 17th if they lost in rd 1 or rd 2
They would pick 28th or 29th if they lost in the conference finals (depending on the record of the other losing team)
They would pick 30th or 31st if they got to the cup finals, depending on the outcome |

Didn't somebody in here say the other day that if the Blues lose, and the Avs, Blue Jackets, Stars, Golden Knights all win, then we pick 16th ? (I even wrote it down so I wouldn't forget).
Is all of that correct ? |

Tampa Bay, coming in at the 1 seed, is already slotted at 27th. |

I think 17th is the best they could do. 3 of the teams that could leapfrog STL are in the West, so only 2 of them can.

From what I can gather, we need one of the teams with a worse regular season record than St. Louis to go to the conference finals, and St. Louis to get bounced this round or next. As long as the blues don’t go to the conference finals and one of Columbus, Vegas, Dallas, or Colorado does then the St. Louis pick would be 19 and we get it. Kind of a tall ask really.

Report: Only Crosby, Malkin 'untouchable' for Pens on trade market
https://www.thescore.com/...lvr.it&utm_medium=twitter - gerbe75pts
"Only Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are considered "untouchable" when it comes to a potential Penguins trade, a team source told The Athletic's Rob Rossi.
However, the source said Pittsburgh is very unlikely to part with forward Jake Guentzel and goaltender Matt Murray, too, and that signing the netminder to a contract extension is "the No. 1 thing to get done" in the offseason."
"You can't have our good players, but all of our poopty or old ones are available."
