Not really a drop for Seider... We’ve been ranking him higher than consensus on here. He’s my 2nd fav D in the draft because of his ceiling, but would be an unnecessary risk @ 10. - DrChristianTroy
And I don't think they'd trade down that far. |

at this point in the canucks "rebuild", if its between going for a massive swing to hit a home run and selecting a wildcard like Caufield, or going to another "safe" pick and select someone like Soderstrom who projects to be a top 4, I am going with the Caufield-like pick any day of the week. - Codes1087
Is it really a massive swing? He is outscoring everyone at best on best competition ?
All he has done is score. He has been doing it for two years.

Even I would rather take Caufield (@ 10) than Soderstrom. - DrChristianTroy
point was mainly the type of prospect I would rather invest in at 10 than the actual players specifically (wildcard/high ceiling/higher risk vs safe). |

i would say it is. I am as high on Caufield as any, and have said for a while now that I would be happy if the Canucks chose him at 10, as long as they did their due diligence on him. Having said that, 5'5 in the NHL won't be easy for him. I imagine what he is doing now DOES translate into offense in the NHL, but its going to be that much harder for him, but as someone who believes the hype and talent, I wouldn't think twice about selecting him. |

As Canuck fans, we are so used to mediocrity on the back end. I could not imagine having a Werenski/Jones duo. A Burns/Vlasic. A Josi/Ellis. Etc.
A Hughes/Byram back end would be something our franchise hasn't really had, and a huge reason we haven't won. Would be nice. - Codes1087

id hope the Canucks swing hard on high potentional vs safe on all picks in all rounds tbh. I think its just tricky when you are picking inside the top 10 of the 1st round when it comes to risky/safe and who to choose. |

they appear to be picking well lately, this year we're further back than the norm so i'm sure we'll see some surprises. |

I won't pretend that I know him. I have seen him play two games. I have been extremely impressed by what I have seen. His numbers over the last two years support the games I watched.
I think there is a lot of blind armchair GMing that is done on here and on Twitter and most of it is wrong (myself included) Like Thunda says opinions are like assh0les , everyone has one.
I will leave the 10 th selection to the boys sitting at the Canucks table on draft day but if they did select Caufield Soderstrom Broberg Seider or anyone of the top 15 I won't be disappointed.
Much like all the complaining on here when we selected Madden over Wise , I will leave it to Brackett

Like everything to do with the Canucks, it's all out of our control. All we can do is hope that brackett and company will earn their pay cheques and did their homework.

Anyone calling Caufield one dimensional?
Yesterday he showed good breakout speed on a breakaway against the Swedes.
Great shot obviously
Pin point passing
Hustle to the net.
I am not campaigning to get him I just think it is nonsense when I see comments on here and on Twitter to keep away from him. - VANTEL
There no mid ground. Same as Rasmussen couple years ago. Most didn't want him in the top 10 so they put him in the 2nd round. |

They tried to do it with Petey. Wouldn't be surprised to do it again if they can round up another pick. |

I really don't feel strong enough about anyone to lose assets or chance on missing the best player.
I like some players but not locked on anyone . |

But would you give up Boeser and the #10 pick, plus possibly another pick/prospect to get him? |
