I will speak for myself ,but I would much rather watch my team in the playoffs ,even if they get their asses kicked ,over sitting here and planning and waiting for drafting and development to get us there in 6 more years.

Yeah, I thought he was gonna have a couple of good years for them before falling off.


Probably best to just avoid signing old UFA’s unless it’s short term or if you have a contending team and want to go all-in for a year or 2 and are okay having an overpaid vet in the future.

Someone should tell Vantel that they’ve been trying to make the playoffs every year except for this past one, but accidentally tanking instead. They’ve been trying to make the playoffs while “retooling on the fly” as long as the Sedins have been here.

Rebuilding teams don’t sign Miller, Vrbata, Eriksson and try to sign Lucic/Iginla.

I, on the other hand, don't think the team is there yet (probably another 2-3 years) and I don't trust this management group re-acting to an over achieving season. I would rather be patient and stay the course. No high profile UFA signings (or really any) and no 'shortcut' trades that end being a step backwards. In the meantime, I'm really enjoying watching talented teams go balls to the wall against each other. Watching the playoffs makes me realize just how far the Canucks have to go.
