I think the Broncos start hot
3-1. You Beat raiders, jags and split with packers/bears
Flacco looks incredibly impressive
Elway is a getting huge Pat's on the back
Then:
Some young guy on a message board starts talking about drafting Flacco's replacement and how going 8-8 doesn't get you a franchise qb. Being a wild card team doesn't matter because, your not really a top contender.
So why bother with a 1 and done playoff loss
You could pick early and be ready in 2024
Season completely falls apart , you pick 7th. You pick 7 and it's an Allen type guy. - Boss34
Because its much easier to trade up in the NFL draft then in the NHL draft. The Broncos can mortgage multiple picks to move up in next years draft if they have to. In the NHL its not as easy. |

Except it would be more like 25 goals and 30 assists here. - Pegullaville

the only one I really was bummed about was compher...that one hurt, but it was said that the avs insisted upon him...and of the picks, colin white looks like he'll be a good one...roslovic does nothing for me - Michael Pachla
He scored a goal off his butt last game.
That was good |

yup....that one hurt...but if you're going after an rnh, you're giving up something to get him - Michael Pachla
I think Risto is the trade piece or at least the centre piece of bringing us back a 2C. |

I don't see why Edm does that deal, though.
After McD and Leon, if they trade away RNH, they have nothing. |

Lemieux might still be a decent player. Maybe if he grows up a bit? |

499 points in 733 career games =0.68PPG
0.68 PPG over a 82 game season is 55.82 points.
ROR would not have been playing with Tarasenko and Schenn here in Buffalo more like Sheary and Reinhart. He might have hit 60 but not 77.
Even with a 77 point season it brought his career average up to 0.68PPG. |

Trocheck from Florida would be nice. Karlsson from Vegas. Duchene/Nelson in FA. Johnson from Tampa. |

Fair enough. Compher would be a 35 point 3C that can PK and play in defensive situations. He would have been a fan favourite here. |

That's a good point nhl vs. NFL draft movement for sure.
Hitting on that top nhl pick is pretty guaranteed at 1 or 2
High QBs bust. That sets you back 4 years.
Been there, I'm a Bill's fan. I was assigned my NFL team at birth. |

yeah...like I said, that one really hurt...as for the rest in that deal, I liked zads, but he's a bit of a head case...grigorenko was never going to make it...defenseman Jeremy roy was selected 31st overall that year |
