The Bills traded Mahomes to the Chiefs did they not ? McDumbDumd's first draft - Pegullaville
That was a good trade

That call on the knocked-off net could go down as a pivotal controversial call

Goal would have went in even if the net was on. I don't have a problem with it. Jets had the 2-0 lead after 20 and just like that my playoff bracket is on the brinks. |

That's not the letter of the law though.
The standard is whether the peg was completely in the hole.
Morally, I agree with you. They deserved the goal |

The official ruling was the peg came off due to the defensive player and I don’t think they can really argue that too much. He was going to get called for the trip if they didn’t score |

The letter of the law says that if the peg came off, it's no goal. There's no "if you're pushed in" proviso, as far as what they said on the broadcast, so that couldn't have been the ruling |

63.6 Awarded Goal - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.
In order to award a goal in this situation, the goal post must have been displaced by the actions a defending player, the puck must have been shot (or the player must be in the act of shooting) at the goal prior to the goal post being displaced, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the net between the normal position of the goal posts.

When the goal post has been displaced deliberately by the defending team when their goalkeeper has been removed for an extra attacker thereby preventing an impending goal by the attacking team, the Referee shall award a goal to the attacking team.
The goal frame is considered to be displaced if either or both goal pegs are no longer in their respective holes in the ice, or the net has come completely off one or both pegs, prior to or as the puck enters the goal. - Michael Pachla
I can't bold your bold, but does it count as an "action of a defending player" if his action indirectly leads to the action of the offensive player?
In my mind, no. The Blues player hit the net off. What happened before then doesn't constitute an action by the defending player, but rather the subsequent chain of actions |

the action of the defending player, in this case interfering or crosschecking the Blues player into the net, and thereby dislodging it, constitutes "an action"...does it not? |

It is an action, but it's not the action that dislodged the net. The action that dislodged the net was done by the blues player
The jets action happened 3 feet away from the net |

I don't think I am - hear me out
"the goal post must have been displaced by the actions a defending player,"
If we accept that a defending player is responsible for disloging the net by causing an opposing player into the net, then you're not reviewing the play at hand, you're reviewing a series of actions.
And a series of actions is not reviewable, only the "action" is reviewable according to the rule
Opening up review to a cascading series of events is a bad precedent
It's the "action" of the blues player that is responsible |

Do you object to knocking someone into the goalie too?
I get your point, but it was a good call.
