Another year of Hutton and Ullmark, oh joy. - SABRES 89
89 - you were complaining about our goaltending long before the general public (myself included)
Pretty spot on
I'm not %100 sure both guys are back.
What about a trade with Vancouver
Ullmark and 7th
Demco and 10th |

Myers was not good at the time of the trade.
He wasnt that sought after
He is still just a bottom pairing giraffe
Most of the first round/2nd picks in the 2015 draft picks 25-34 aren't playing in the nhl
Good players were picked right before - Boss34
I'd take Roslovic, Beauvillier, Dermott, or Sebastian Aho in the Blue and Gold. |

ROR is a Lady Byng and Selke finalist.
Honestly.
Regardless of what happens in the "future", this is a monumental failure on the Pegula's and on Botteril. The literal only thing we have from that trade that can redeem it is Tage Thompson. That 1st is a wash, let's be real. We already pretty much traded it for Montour.
So that trade Basically became ROR for Montour.
Would ANYONE in their right mind have made that trade? No. Good god, I get it, him and Jack hated each other or whatever, but seriously this is right up there with Briere/Drury both walking and matching that Vanek offer sheet - which, IMO, is the often over-looked 3rd part to that story. - BeadyEyedDouche
RoR for Mountour + a 2nd is closer in value than any trade GMTM made. Probably exaggerating a little, but just a little.

Just curious? |

Botts got us Dahlin by rolling out the same poop he inherited from Murray. He could of came in and made a thousand moves if he wanted to and chose to stand pat and "assess the roster and what we have" |

I don't like Hayes becuase of the same reason I'm happy we got out of ROR's contract. By the time we have a roster that looks any where close to a cup foundation both of those guys will have contracts that they won't be living up to. Hayes and ROR are both slow. |

Hard to deny that lehner was part of our 31st place finish
Especially considering he was the poop inherited by tmgm.
Phail helped too
Eichel injury #2
Botts definitely finished the job |

Dont you think were going to actually start winning soon?
Need a veteran 2 way center?
What kind of contract is hayes looking at?

I have different definitions of simply being a playoff team and being a cup contender. |

Binnington is the reason why they are even in the playoffs. I’m sure the Blues cam owe him one. - Pegullaville
And that has what exactly to do with making a mistake? |

Setting aside the complete anomaly of the VGK last year, can you think of a single team that one the Cup on its first time in the playoffs? (I know VGK didn't win)
I haven't looked, but I bet teams need to learn to win playoff games as an evolving maturation. We should start that process now instead of waiting for a "complete" contenders roster. |

You mean 7th overall? (frank) no. No goalie is worth moving down 3 spots. Certainly not some schmuck with 10 total NHL games with a .909 2.92 line. |

With oreilly here and some competent coaching, how far away would we be from adding 133 points at the trade deadline and becoming instant contenders? |

Have to imagine 6m on a long term deal. Are you comfortable handing him an Okposo-like deal?

That if he didn't put together a calder like capmpaign in 35 games of work he'd be sitting on the beach in Barbados instead of making a mistake in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs ? |

Yes I understand. Thats why I think the Sabres are 2-3 years away from being considered Cup contenders becuase we need to make the playoffs first before having that kind of roster. By the time we are ready ROR and Hayes would be declining heavily. |

If he wanted a cheap contract but I believe he wants a $5 million-$6 million contract
He’s like the Drew Stafford average type player that should get around 4m imo |

It's a quandary.
I expect Botterill to make at least 1 free agency move of more note than Pouliot or Hutton.
He needs to act with a sense of urgency to save his job. Not desperation, but urgency |

Botts needs to be looking at RNH or someone of that ilk. Young but with enough experience that can help us win now and in the long run. |
