In other Leafs news....really surprised there has not been more talk about Gardiner. The guy looks like he can barely skate out there (speed used to be a strength), and has taken 1 Slapshot all series by my count (blocked). While not costing us yet, I can't help but wonder if Rosen would be a better option at this point.

I’d imagine a lot of guys aren’t 100 percent right now. But a Gardiner without mobility can be really tough to watch. Even his lateral movement on the offensive blue line has struggled. I know it’s not exactly a new revelation but he’s had a real hard time walking the line to get pucks on net. Seems like every shot he takes hits a shin pad. Good on him for toughing it out I guess?

I like old school hockey and I’m usually pretty hard on the leafs for being soft but I feel there has been good pushback for most of the series short of game 2 which was an absolute debacle all around.

Almost did. That one off the post late would of been nice. He’s picked it up but has yet to really take the game over and put the team on his back. Hopefully everyone comes to play tomorrow. The leafs are a tough team to beat when everyone shows up and is engaged.

The thing about Gardiner is, I really have no expectations of him.

As long as he doesn't have a lot of glaring defensive (frank)ups, I really don't care about him. Would more offense from him be nice? Sure, I guess. But I'm totally happy with him if I barely notice him in a game.
