What I think is "mean and unnecessary" is letting up at any point during a game. Frankly, it's disrespectful to your opponent to lay off and not give 100%.

I have no issue with a team running up the score as long as they don't run their mouths, excessively celebrate, or are unsportsmanlike jerks when they're doing so.

They're a stupidly talented team who could just as easily put out other guys in that situation.
