Olfssons like 23 syrs old. He can learn more playing with Jack than he can in any other role - Michael Pachla
Even if that’s true...
play him there after the deadline
Do u think playing him with Mitts for 55games is really gonna hurt his development?
I do not |

Maybe the other gms notice sheary's #'s, but do not realize he's on John Jack's line - Boss34
Sure
But they’ll still be more tempted to give up something decent for a guy that has 16goals than a guy who has half that...
regardless of who they’re playing with
And...
i don’t think it’ll hurt us at all to have Sheary with Jack,
as i don’t anticipate us being very good anyways |

If they're not planning on trying for the playoffs, this probably would maximize the return you could get for CS. - PrinceChill
Exactly
And even if we did think we had a shot at the playoffs...
I don’t think Olofsson’s numbers would be significantly better than Sheary’s in that spot

Scoring 11 goals in these 3 games is going to get him some serious looks IMO. - CoHo_to_B-Lo
There have been several forwards ahead of him in the mocks all year and I don't think that will change. His size will also scare off some teams. A few games will not make much of a difference imo. |

Olofsson is the exact opposite of rushed. CJ Smith as well. I'd move Sheary. He does nothing for me. - Lunaion
Sure, he’s 23
But it’s still a leap from the AHL to Line1
I don’t see the harm in easing him into that role a bit
I’m not saying to play Olofsson on Line4 or anything
Play him with Mitts for 55games
Heck... maybe he’s the sniper that we need to play with Mitts to get him going? |

Could bump him from late teens to early teens though
Or from mid teens to Top10
I think teams will see him differently
He’s the type of guy that you’d see rated anywhere from 6-ish to 20-ish if we saw all the teams draft boards |

1) didn’t say he’s “not ready” to play with a Vet
What i did say is that there’s no harm in NOT playing him with Jack right away
2) what’s to say a couple young kids can’t find chemistry?
I remember a very young Roy & Vanek playing very well together
***Vanek managed to still have a good career even though we didn’t put him with Briere or Drury right away |

Lines change regularly, under all coaches. You take them way too seriously. Upping Sheary's trade value from less than a 4th to what? a 3rd? You want to play inferior lines for that? Take a deep breath. They need to win games next year and they have a seriously flawed group of LW's.

What do you gain by doing it that way? Getting a 3rd rounder instead of a 4th? I'd like to see them ice the best lineup and try to win this year |

I’m playing him with Jack no matter what
Even if he’s streaky, Sheary is still most likely to put up his most points with Jack
Let’s maximize his trade value
Even if Skinner is still here,
play both with Jack if we don’t want Skinner on Line2
Just move 1 to RW
They’ve both done it in the past
It’s not like we are gonna challenge for much next year (unless some drastic changes are made) - jdfitz77
I get it, it maximizes TDL return. Just not sure Sheary is going to garner a lot no matter his point totals. 2nd rounder maybe if we're lucky and he overachieves???
Not sure that's enough juice to warrant a marked reduction in points vs playing Skinner/Olo and Samson. |

Olofsson (a rookie) with Jack makes that line SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER???
If that was the case, then i agree
But i don’t see Sheary with Jack as an “inferior line” |

We aren’t gonna “win” this year if we are depending on EITHER to play on the top line
What are u guys expecting Olofsson’s stats would be with Jack vs what Sheary’s would be with Jack?

Seriously... we did this last offseason
Leave these old guys in the past
It doesn’t look like Botts is at all interested or Vanek would’ve gotten a call last year...
Don’t ya think? |

That’s my point though
I don’t think there’s a big difference between what Olofsson would get vs what Sheary would get
And we need to play at least 1 of Skinner or Sam with Mitts imo |
