I will be shocked if Caufield is there when we pick I could see him going 4 or 5 now

Not a chance. He'll go 10-14.

Play Sheary with Jack next year
Watch him rack up points
Trade him at the deadline for the best return possible

Then move one of the kids up to that slot
Nylander, Olofsson, etc

It wouldn't surprise me if Todd Richards gets serious consideration from Botts. He checks a few of the boxes.

If I remember rightly, Sheary got a lot of time with Jack in the first half of the season and was very streaky. Got his shot though.

I wouldn't mind seeing him there if Skinns walks and no one is signed, but really think we'd have to grab something if Skinner walks. Sheary on the 3rd line is fine, top line is a misfit unless you're purposefully spreading talent down the top9.

Goalofsson looks like he could be a real good fit on Jacks left

Scoring 11 goals in these 3 games is going to get him some serious looks IMO.

Long term
Since i really don’t see us making much noise next year,
I’d like to maximize assets that we don’t want here long term (like Sheary)
No reason to rush Olofsson, Nylander, etc to Top Line duty with Jack

The way Oloffson was fighting for pucks along the boards and the passes he looked like he fit there. (I know small sample size) But he was really a surprise to me when all i was expecting was good skating and an elite shot.

I’m playing him with Jack no matter what
Even if he’s streaky, Sheary is still most likely to put up his most points with Jack
Let’s maximize his trade value

Even if Skinner is still here,
play both with Jack if we don’t want Skinner on Line2
Just move 1 to RW
They’ve both done it in the past

It’s not like we are gonna challenge for much next year (unless some drastic changes are made)

Olfssons like 23 syrs old. He can learn more playing with Jack than he can in any other role

Sneaky fitz

Maybe the other gms notice sheary's #'s, but do not realize he's on John Jack's line

If they're not planning on trying for the playoffs, this probably would maximize the return you could get for CS.

I don’t think we gain much by putting him with Jack right away
But i do think that Sheary’s trade value could be substantially more if he’s racking up points with Jack

Olofsson is the exact opposite of rushed. CJ Smith as well. I'd move Sheary. He does nothing for me.

It might be that JB is waiting to see if any of the playoff coaches get canned.
