That's an interesting spin but not really accurate because if Tavares was the shutdown guy, you'd think he'd be shutting them down on the PK too (and the PK has been ineffective so far). But, the Bruins top line is outscoring the Tavares line in total goals and points. Marner has been a bigger reason for the "shutting down".

Tavares is here to score goals. He was the leading goal scorer and the PP hasn't been producing in part because he has 1 goal in 4 games. Tavares needs to have a big offensive game and it could be tonight but it needs to happen at some point soon.
