It's nice to think that we'll go get Duchene or Dzingel or EK but reality tells me they aren't coming here to this disaster. The only way Botts can seriously re-shape the roster is make prudent trades using assets he already has and finding a HC that is liked around the league. - mhp
Some of that may be true, but the overwhelming bottom line is the player going where they will be paid market value.
Stone for example, as he signed with a good Vegas team after being traded, but it wasn't like they got him for anything resembling a bargain on his contract. |

Having two top 10 players in the league on one team won’t help ? Cause Eichel is right on the cusp and Dahlin will be there in no time. - Pegullaville
I don't think that carries as much weight as you think. |

Although, what is Borgen's upside?
Trouba is great, but does Borgen have that potential? Are we kicking ourselves down the road? - Powerslave
I think ideally Borgen is a 5 or a 6. He could play 2nd pairing minutes or even first pairing minutes with a guy like Dahlin but I don’t think he’ll be a guy that people look at that they say he is a top 4 d-man regardless of who he is playing with.
He might be the methot to Dahlin’s “Karlsson” though so to speak. |

At this point I just want the rebuild done right and if it means extending the non playoff streak, so be it. Just get it right. I think Bots plan should do that. The big piece will be 2nd line center. Is that going to be a Hayes type? Or RNH, Duchene? How good the 2C is will give an indication of how close we are to making a move to a WC spot.
I’m also very excited about the players that will be available at 7. - Khymlev13
I have no idea who the 2C will be next year but I would think it will come via trade.

I just don't think we'll be active in free agency. To me, I see more activity for Botts at the draft. I wouldn't mind a few lower tier free agents later in the summer to shape the bottom 6. Donskoi, Carpenter, Agostino would be ok adds. I think we'll se CJ, VO, Pilut and possibly Asplund here next year. Asplund could have a spot if Larsson is gone. I think Davidsson could be in Rochester as well.

I think Borgen starts next year in Rochester, simply due to the fact that Bogo is still here. He will probably be the first dman called up. |

Gotta think Winnipeg and Tampa Bay could be trade partners this summer. And if the Jets fire Maurice, he'll probably be #1 on Botts list. |

7 playoff appearances in 21 years and the Jets struggled down the stretch and were a round 1 exit because of it. Idk how I’d feel about him. |

So if we are looking for a 2C via trade, who are the contenders?
RNH
Rakell/Henrique (believe Rakell plays more wing than C)
JT Miller/Cirelli
Mikael Granlund
Just spit balling. I'm sure Botts will want Duchene but a lot of other teams will be calling as well. |

Vegas has 17 players signed for $82.4m going into the offseason. If there is any possibility of getting Karlsson, that is where I would be focusing. Then hire Grönborg. |

He checks a few of the boxes.
I think Todd Richards could be another guy along with Gronberg and maybe Keefe or DJ Smith. |

With skinnzie it all comes down to love or money. If he wants to play with jack and have his close knit family drop in more frequently, stays. (Love)
If. He want the cash the. It all comes down to money. - Da_Cashman
Does winning fall into a category?
Like: trying to fulfill his lifetime goal as a hockey player? |

Thought of that, but they have their D corps signed for several seasons. |

And taking on Risto's contract doesn't help their cap situation. But I would like this type of move. |

It’s crazy how a team like Winnipeg’s cup window could be in total jeopardy after just finally reaching cup contender status the last 2 seasons. Goes to show how important drafting is to have the next wave of players coming in on cheap deals to supplement their better players. They might have been better off moving Wheeler for younger talent. |

Ok I want Boldy at 7 case closed. Unless Turcotte miraculously falls into our lap. He is exactly what we need on the wing and he is just toying with everyone at the U18’s. |

They had a good mix of vets and young talent.
They need to make a move or two and they will be fine.

I like this idea too. Zegras would/could be another option at 7 but I would be pleased with Boldy or Turcotte. |
