Well, I figured that most Sabres fans would be happy with a Calder cup for Rochester.
Breed winning
Have guys learn to win at the ahl level
Mrtankerville - I assumed losing would breed losing.
Which is good for our draft position.
When did the Sabres start having "nothing to do with the americans"?
I read somewhere that we were affiliated with them?
I Could be wrong? - Boss34
I thought 4/20 was yesterday ? You made a sly comment about the Amerks tanking in the playoffs becuase the Amerks losing is supposed to help the parent club draft higher ?
And yes they are our affiliation however they won this year and finished 2nd in their division. The only prospects playing on that team right now that had any affiliation with the Sabres for an extended period of time were Pilut and Thompson.

Regardless, the point of Rochester having veterans and keeping some of the young guys back, was to win.
Learn how to win
Then bring that winning attitude with you to buffalo right?
Now they can bring that losing feeling to buffalo.
Thought that would appeal to the "wait until 2022" crowd
Stack up more prospects
Avoid losing in the first round of the playoffs to Tampa
Continue to draft early
Personally, I have had it with losing and was hoping goaloffson was going to be a star in the ahl.playoffs.
That Taylor would be a playoff coach
I realize it's best of 5 . But down 2-0 already |

I haven't liked their goaltending all year. I've mad a few opinions on here about Taylor before. Don't know what the answer is there. - mhp
my gut said they wanted to call johansson up for playoffs before he got hurt |

Under achieving players who can't score when you need them
Playing for a coach who is out coached by the opposite team
Disappointing results on the score board
I believe the Amerks are primed and ready to play for the Sabres

Ugh
This could’ve been our team for the next few years to come before we started having Cap issues
I think it would’ve been pretty decent
Skinner-Jack-Nylander/Olofsson
Sheary-ROR-Sam
Kane-Mitts-Olofsson/Nylander
E Rod-Larsson-Okposo
Wilson
*Smith-Asplund-Pekar eventually move up
Dahlin-Risto
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Bogo
Nelson
*Borgen, Dougherty, Samuelsson, Bryson, Laaksonen, etc still coming
*Guhle, 2nd, Girgs enough to still get Montour maybe?
Hutton ~> 6k
Ullmark
That’s a playoff team imo
And could be a pretty good team depending on how the kids develop & who we choose to keep under the Cap (which will be going up) |

Rather have a sober Lehner than Hutton or Ullmark. |

This is a different story if we had either at the top of their games.
Selke finalist was the expectation when we got ROR
Bonafide #1 goalies might cost a first rounder |

Lehner is a different story what with the drinking and all, but I think the reason we didn't get Selke ROR was because Murray blew his load acquiring 3 good players and as a result, he couldn't surround them with any other talent. As far as ROR wingers go, Scott Wilson < Taresenko |

It’s not like ROR suddenly became a better player this year
If there was more talent here...
then he could’ve been used better & had better linemates
i don’t see any reason he couldn’t have been more successful here in the years to come
But I’m sure that’s where we will disagree |

Eh. I don’t think he repeats this year but I could be wrong.
He’s been excellent this season, but he’s also been fortunate.
When he slowed down Tarasenko got hot, and carried that line. |
