It’s a good theory. See what other teams offer in the tampering period and then circle around with another offer. - Pegullaville
I feel like maybe 1 or 2 teams hit $9, but are they good location/situation for him? Plus those teams can only offer 7 years. It’s not a terrible gamble by Bots unless a team Skinner likes offers 7/$63 |

A big risk is taking away eichel’s best winger (Skinner) and his closest teammate (reinhart). |

I understand that completely, a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while though. With how bad Edmonton and Buffalo have both been this decade I don’t think they can remain down forever. |

Skinner might want to make the playoffs. He could wait to see if JB makes moves to make the team better, or if he's gonna sit tight and wait for all his draft picks to develop. |

Why would skinner not go to July 1st or like you said -
The tampering period?
Does he think the Sabres are going to spend that $ on a different free agent? He knows the answer is NO - Boss34
Maybe he takes a run at Duchene or Karlsson. Might not be likely but isn’t impossible. |

Ok, please have mercy and please don't shoot the messenger.
Botterill is absolutely in no hurry to find a head coach. McLellen was there but they didn't even meet with him after his son's team lost, they never talked. That's why to offer was made.
They won't pay Skinner 9.5 a year and Botterill is in no hurry to sign him. Seems that Skinner is set ( as of now) to test the market.
There will be turnover with the roster, I asked about Risto and was told 60-40 he's moved. Reinhart may not be safe either but he may be a later deal.
Botterill wants the kids to learn and bloom in the AHL and won't rush them, Taylor will stay there to make sure of that.
As far as AV goes, Botterill wanted to see coach team Canada then was going to go from there with an interview, never got the chance as we all know.
Botterill was ready to talk with Boudreau if the Wild cut him loose.
Girgensons is done here and it looks like Larrson is close to it also.
He would consider moving Sheary and McCabe they want to keep.
They want an experienced head coach but will look into Gronberg.
Housley knew a week before he was gone, he listed his condo by the water front and sold just last week.
They want 6K in the AHL and won't rush him, no chance.
He will get a 2nd line center but won't move the 7th pick to do so, he wants to build through the draft, he's big on that.
This team is way to soft and that's gonna change, he wants them hard to play against but also have speed.
And last, this is really big deal with some and i'm gonna catch hell for this but here it goes:
Eichel and ROR had NO ISSUES with each other, ROR wanted out, he didn't want to be here anymore, he didn't want to lose anymore and had enough. He only tried to help Eichel but at times with all the losing, everyone gets pissed off and attitudes change.
Also E; Kane did not want to leave, sorry.
Well that's it for now folks, please keep the insults to a minimum, i'm just trying to pass also some info, some you may have heard about and some you may have not. i'm no insider by any means just want this team to win and succeed like all of us do. - SABRES 89
Thanks, 89 |

According to what I was told, he wasn't supposed to be in the NHL this year. Roster turnover next year may dictate other wise. - SABRES 89
Sure played quite a few games for a guy that wasn't supposed to be there. TT staying up had to be JB's call right? I mean, we cannot blame this one all on Phil and Kim P, right? |

It started off by a statistical comparison between Okposo's last 3 seasons in Long Island to Skinner this year and even his past couple seasons if you want to include those.
Then it turned into Okposo not ever being considered "a top winger in the league" in which I went on to show how Skinner isn't either. Goals are important but don't tell the whole story. - Pegullaville
Okposo might have been the top winger of Asian descent in the league but that’s only part of the story. The other part of the story is that he sucks.

With skinnzie it all comes down to love or money. If he wants to play with jack and have his close knit family drop in more frequently, stays. (Love)
If. He want the cash the. It all comes down to money. |

Thanks 89. I feel like the Kane trade was forced by the Pegulas. the ROR trade may have been dictated by him. Either way, Botts is pretty stoic with the answers, but neither trade, especially the ROR trade makes sense unless his hand was forced. Sounds like you're confirming what a bunch of us had a hunch on. We probably would have been a much better team this year if ROR was our #2C.

How many playoff teams with 9+ million dollars floating around does he have to choose from?

Thanks 89. Will be interesting to see how much the roster changes, to obtain the types of players for the style he wants. |
