I like it for Buffalo, not sure The Peg would settle for that for Trouba...I would think they would want a proven NHL defender back. If they value Borgen that highly then sure.

"I've got one for you, Chevy. Scandella".

Just last week I asked if any of us had thought about rino in a trade.
Everyone said it was a stupid idea.
We don’t have many valuable players that we would trade.
I’m for it

Dahlin, Trouba, Montour as your top 3 D has me salivating.

Right!

Risto would obviously be history to bring back forward help.

I hope that Ehlers just had a bad season and isn't going the wrong way.
- kingcong39

Only played 62 games ... so uplift his points by 25%...or another 8 to end at 45sh if he had played 82...down 20% from his past 2 seasons though.

I think the Jets would demand more.

I think you are getting much warmer as to what they would want for Sam ...

Sam -----> Top 2 Dman

Risto -----> 2C

I wouldn't hate it at all.

- IonSabres

Agreed. Changing the makeup of the team while acquiring equivalent talent value for the pieces leaving.

I think in the sense that they need the cap space is what will help motivate it. Borgen is NHL ready imo as well at least as a #6 guy.

Bryan Little and Mattheu Perrault are most likely higher on the list of people to move out then Ehlers. Trouba has demanded trades in the past and makes sense that he would want out.

Although, what is Borgen's upside?

Trouba is great, but does Borgen have that potential? Are we kicking ourselves down the road?

They can demand more, but Ehlers did not have a good season, and he is supposed to still be improving.

Problem for Wpg is that they can’t afford to sign all their players and are therefore in a position of weakness. Connor is due a hefty raise. Laine....yikes. They don’t even utilize him enough but he has to make $9+. Then Trouba around $7. Whether it’s a trade with buffalo or another team, at some point they have to deal a good player for futures.

Which is why I'd rather try Reinhart for Trouba as the key pieces and skip Ehlers.

Trouba would also want to sign here. He is an RFA at the end of the day. If he wants nothing to do with us the argument is moot.

Samuelsson has me excited, too. And Laaksonen. I'm still high on Pilut - I think he still has top 6 potential.

They've restocked the cupboards well on D.

You'd have to think he'd be open to it if they show him the money and him being on the top pair with Dahlin?

That's why trading Ristolainen for an impact forward seems like the path they're going down.

Ok, please have mercy and please don't shoot the messenger.

Botterill is absolutely in no hurry to find a head coach. McLellen was there but they didn't even meet with him after his son's team lost, they never talked. That's why to offer was made.

They won't pay Skinner 9.5 a year and Botterill is in no hurry to sign him. Seems that Skinner is set ( as of now) to test the market.

There will be turnover with the roster, I asked about Risto and was told 60-40 he's moved. Reinhart may not be safe either but he may be a later deal.

Botterill wants the kids to learn and bloom in the AHL and won't rush them, Taylor will stay there to make sure of that.

As far as AV goes, Botterill wanted to see coach team Canada then was going to go from there with an interview, never got the chance as we all know.

Botterill was ready to talk with Boudreau if the Wild cut him loose.

Girgensons is done here and it looks like Larrson is close to it also.

He would consider moving Sheary and McCabe they want to keep.

They want an experienced head coach but will look into Gronberg.

Housley knew a week before he was gone, he listed his condo by the water front and sold just last week.

They want 6K in the AHL and won't rush him, no chance.

He will get a 2nd line center but won't move the 7th pick to do so, he wants to build through the draft, he's big on that.

This team is way to soft and that's gonna change, he wants them hard to play against but also have speed.

And last, this is really big deal with some and i'm gonna catch hell for this but here it goes:

Eichel and ROR had NO ISSUES with each other, ROR wanted out, he didn't want to be here anymore, he didn't want to lose anymore and had enough. He only tried to help Eichel but at times with all the losing, everyone gets pissed off and attitudes change.

Also E; Kane did not want to leave, sorry.

Well that's it for now folks, please keep the insults to a minimum, i'm just trying to pass also some info, some you may have heard about and some you may have not. i'm no insider by any means just want this team to win and succeed like all of us do.

Good stuff 89.

Risto and Reinhart moved this summer would be a crazy off season, although I get the idea of possibly Reinhart down the road. I think Reinhart starts the season here.

I think there is a tug of war between Lyndrd Skinner and his agent. His agent is pushing him to test the market but simple man wants to sign.

Taylor should stay in Rochester and work with the kids and there should be plenty of experienced coaches to look at. I like the fact that he's waiting. And I'm glad AV is in Philly.

Roster turnover sounds like no QO for Girgs and probably Larsson and maybe a Sheary trade.

I wonder about the goaltending and Scandella. Lots of changes coming.

I think Botts has an enormously difficult job in selling free agents to come here. It sure will be interesting what he does and if Skynrd hits the market, that will be a huge blow to him re-shaping the team.

This is 100% spot on.

Hopefully there are a couple guys on this team that can sell this franchise and/or city to a free agent or two.

Having two top 10 players in the league on one team won’t help ? Cause Eichel is right on the cusp and Dahlin will be there in no time.

At this point I just want the rebuild done right and if it means extending the non playoff streak, so be it. Just get it right. I think Bots plan should do that. The big piece will be 2nd line center. Is that going to be a Hayes type? Or RNH, Duchene? How good the 2C is will give an indication of how close we are to making a move to a WC spot.

I’m also very excited about the players that will be available at 7.

It's nice to think that we'll go get Duchene or Dzingel or EK but reality tells me they aren't coming here to this disaster. The only way Botts can seriously re-shape the roster is make prudent trades using assets he already has and finding a HC that is liked around the league.
