Don't you know how some fans work. Throw a player into the NHL before they are ready and then complain they suck but also don't allow them time to develop so they don't suck and label them busts. It's a win win for any prospect that doesn't haven't a first season like Petersson.

Draft Day dreams

Andrew McDonald and 2nd(41oa) for 6th rounder

Ben Hutton to NJ for 60oa

Sutter to Mtl for Alzner and Mtl 2nd(46oa)

Trade down 10oa to NYR for 22nd and 37th.

37th and 71st for 28oa from Washington.

Van drafts 22, 28, 40, 41, 60

That's all if Hughes, Kakko, Dach, Byram, Boldy, Zegras Podkolzin don't fall to Van

Wow, is Craig Button absolutely (frank)ed up sometimes, like beyond normal.

He just said that Peyton Krebs reminds him of Ryan O'Reilly

It's sad I know, haven't eaten a donut in 2 months. Anywho, yeah Button's comparable's are among the worst in history.

Not yet but I am going to go to a Canucks game there next time I am in Vegas will try to plan the trip around that.

Just can't bring myself to cheer for a Bettman team. Hopefully SJ takes them out.

Pipe dream but if we had Ken Holland here our prospects would be sure to see 3-4 years of development. DET made the playoffs for damn near 20 years straight off some of those Ken Holland policies.

I disagree . Top 5 picks that 4 years later are still a maybe are bad top 5 picks. You take those guys in the second round. Even if Holland made that selection and year four the player was still a maybe then it is a bad pick. Michael Dal Colle was picked by another GM and that is a bad pick.

Ken Holland has always allowed the prospects to come in when they are ready. Key words "when they're ready", not oh poop we drafted that guy in the 1st round if he doesn't make it in two years he's a bust. That's probably why for so long they were a renowned for developing prospects properly.

Check your facts . Back when they were winning cups they had more patience and let players take 3-4 years . That is over 10 years ago. In the last 10 years they have been bringing them in after 2 years and their selections have had just as many misses as they have had hits.

There is a big difference to players NHL ready now , these days compared to 15 years ago.

I can't have this conversation with you anymore.

I'll let you choose.

Jones, Risto, Zadorov

Pulock, Morrisey, Theodore

Hagg, Santini, Bowey

This is the 2013 draft.

First set played within 1-2 years of being drafted.

Second set took 3-4 years before they played regular in the NHL.

Third set is 2nd round picks.

I don't care about forwards this started with defence.

I'm taking the 2nd set of defence over any other every (frank)en day and twice on Sundays.

That is because you are wrong. Det has had two top 10 picks in the last 5 years and both played in the NHL in the first year after draft. Patience????
