How did Cody Hodgson's injury history go for the Canuck? OJ has had two major operations in two years. I suggest you not take it so it's fine.

I am sure his two month back surgery and knee surgery last year are nothing at all.

- VANTEL

What does Hodgson have to do with anything? We’ve established it was a bad pick, we’re just saying his career isn’t over at 21, there’s hope he can still contribute.

Wonder if Skinner would be a good signing for Pettersson and Boeser’s line on LW? Probably too expensive after popping 40.

I am saying unlike you that a person with injury history can not just be dismissed and penciled into a roster.

PK Subban was a second round pick . Please get on topic or start another conversation.
- VANTEL

How many 5 th over all picks are 20 years old and did not play in the NHL? Simple question. He was drafted 3 full years ago. He is coming into his 4 th year and still not expected to make it out of camp to the Canucks.

You mean get on board with the spin...lol

The topic is narrowed down to an argument that involves few Dmen if they have to be a top 5 picks.

Please dont respond to this with projections about what I think.

So there are already expectations that he will fail from the club? Not very smart to tell Joulevi or other clubs that they expect him to fail.

Or is this fan hyperbole that Joulevi isn’t expected to make it out of camp?

- Makita

If he's expected not to make it out of camp by the organization in the spring already... it will have to do with the Edler signing obviously.

I'm talking about fair compatibles... you are losing track quickly. It happens when you are arguing on multiple fronts. No problems.

Debating your exaggerations is all people are doing. I agreed like most of the people who you are projecting on here that the pick fell short.

I'm not a big OJ fan either, judging from the games I saw him play in the AHL this year, not because of his injuries, or not because I wanted Tkachuk.

I like him on the PP and offensively at 5v5, the issue is his defense, especially how soft he plays defensively.

I thought Comets watchers were exaggerating his softness, I figured maybe he was like Salo/Tanev and didn't throw hits but still battled along the boards and boxed players out, but he barely does those things either. He relied almost solely on stick checking players in the games I watched. Lost the majority of board/net battles he was involved in.

Maybe he's afraid to get injured or was playing through an injury, who knows. But the same people who despise Goldobin, will also despise OJ when they see him play enough, unless he really changes his mindset/style.

It's a shame because his skill is definitely NHL-worthy, and so is his skating if he can get back to where he was during his draft year with it. Hopefully he works on his game and stays healthy over the summer and earns himself a roster spot or early season call-up with his improved play and health.

I followed every game this year and caught a few to watch. I seen the hilights and the lowlights This is exactly what I thought. He is a wild card in his own end and puck battles were non existing. He would have been destroyed in the NHL but he would have put up a goal or two and a few assists.

He would’ve played this year, Benning said so, it’s not debatable. You’re ignoring his injury, to fit your narrative and you’re offside, he would’ve played, no question.

The fact that he hasn’t dictates to your point that it wasn’t the best pick but there’s a reason which he hasn’t played yet and you’re pretending like that reason doesn’t exist.

Not very many defensemen are taken in the top ten, when compared to forward numbers, but, a guy like Mike Komisarek was drafted 7th overall and made his debut at 21, big deal.

Juolevi won’t be a star like Benning thought but he can still very much be a good player for the team. Can’t change it so just live with it. Benning’s not as good or bad as he’s made out to be.
