What is his full name? I didn't see anyone named Layton on Hockey DB?

Oops sorry figured it out

I asked him about newhook and he said he's really shifty but we had a game plan that worked against him. I also asked if Caulfield and boldy were available who would he pick and he said good question but Caulfield would be more of a gamble but he could be another debrincat.

Much more impressive playoff than regular season
- Shuswap Wap

I asked him about that, he is a very good defensive dman who has added offence in the playoffs, I noticed he is holding on to the puck and carrying it more.

Looking at how the order can fall and hearing Benning has been to Langley to scout Byram and out scouting the two Swedish Dmen and the one Finn , I would not be surprised to see the first selection a Dman.

I really hope he’s not fixated on a certain position, reminds me of the OJ pick

When someone reports he was watching 🇸🇪 to scout Soderstrom & Broberg how do we know he wasn’t really there to see Grewe & Holmstrom... & if he SAID he was scouting Soderstrom & Broberg, why would he share that? Benning’s no strategic genius, but you have to question whether that kind of info is a draft interest smokescreen...

The conspiracy theories this time of year is great.

Patrick Johnson says Benning is going to go scout some players in a casual comment such as "Yeah I want to go look at a few of these players" and everyone starts second guessing.

DCTs comments about what about if he wants to go see the second and third round guys is possible I guess but isn't that why they have Gradin and the European scouts?

I assume seeing he said usually the first round picks are the GMs guy and the others belong to the scouting staff, I will go out on a limb and Say Benning is scouting the US top Guys Canada's and the rest of the teams.

From what I seen of the Swedes D it is not a bad choice if we take one.

I bet he is looking at a lot of players but again isn't that why you have scouts ? Someone who sees the players play about 15 times not just one or two?

I really think it is nothing more than him wanting to look at some of the best players.

Using his time for his eye test maybe. Other GM’s in the PO’s have a different focus & he can get a leg up on any he sees.

This is my take only. I have seen lists of rankings and if I was selecting I would say Hughes Kakko Byram Podkolzin Caulfied Boldy Turcotte are who would interest me in group 1 and 2 .

Then you slip into what I think is a group 3 Krebs Newhook Soderstrom Broberg and Seider.

These players in the groups are in no particular order that I listed. I have no interest in Cozens Dach . It doesn't mean they are no good I just don't care about them and would select out of need in group 3 for a Dman unless by some miracle someone from group one or two fell.

He was a full participant in practice today. As if the US team needs another brilliant playmaker on the ice.
