Yeah I can’t see how he’s come close to Moulson/Okposo/Risto bad but whatever |

He's avoided and gotten out of long term deals, while taking on some short term salary intentionally to facilitate deals. He still hasn't tipped his hand on what this group looks like long term and has given himself a ton of flexibility.
You can love RoR and still appreciate that.

Anyone who blames him for the O’Reilly deal just wants to be mad at someone at this point.
He was forced to move him by his owner and by the fact that he didn’t want to play here anymore |

The trade isn’t even finalized yet. People like to judge something after a year yet Thompson isn’t a finished product either. We’ll see if people are still singing the same tune 2 years from now. |

2 options:
1) Use the pick and stock the cupboard
2) Use it to make a Montour esque deal to add to the forward group. - Pegullaville
EXACTLY
Under no circumstance should it be used to get rid of Okposo
That’s bonkers |

Can rightly be unhappy with the sh!tty return
And i don’t buy that this was the deal he HAD to take
There were other teams interested
Botts WANTED Tage
And he was COUNTING on Berglund to be able to play 2C
You’re still blindly defending the deal bc u hate ROR
But even under the circumstances...
Still was a bad trade by Botts |

Montour, Thompson, and a 2nd rounder for ROR and Guhle might not look too bad 2 years from now. |

I actually still liked Guhle
But we had to give up something for Montour
Tage is gonna have to turnout to be a 25+ goal scorer for me to end up liking that trade
*and that’s if Guhle doesn’t become much
It would also be nice if that 2nd turned into a decent player |

Is it accepted now that Ristolainen is “bad”? That would be news to a lot of the NHL, I think.
It’s more likely that he has just become your newest focus after Kane, ROR got run off. |

The “Nostalgia” video was a relevant comment on the merit of Pomminvilles play.
Your comment on Al Sharptons ability to spell is completely unrelated to the conversation or hockey, at all.
Be better. |

Good post.
Also, unless someone high up in the organization comes right out and says ownership forced the trade, and unless ROR himself comes out and says he wanted out - word for word - I don't believe any of it. It's all hearsay. Saying he lost his love for the game doesn't necessarily mean he wanted to be traded, but if enough people keep saying it here, it becomes gospel. Lastly, if the St Louis offer was the only legit offer - and Botts took it thinking that, then I have little faith in any move he makes going forward. How about saying "no" to accepting the Blues' 3 sh!ttiest players in the deal ? Botts got duped.
That 1st rounder better become an excellent player.

Sorry but Botts has made this cap worse.
Scandella, hunwick, pommer, and sheary (and according to some on here, he could have traded bogo his first offseason here, elected not to do it) - Mentalorgasm5
This is beyond false. The only long term contracts JB is responsible for is Jack Eichel. All other bloated contracts are short term and were brought here either as short cap dumps or to fill holes. Even Berglund's contract wasn't that bad prior to the start of the season. |

It requires a mix of definition and opinion. Ristolainen's bad qualities include a lack of defensive zone awareness and an inability to exit the zone, effectively. He does other things well, these are just his largest flaws. |

From the Rangers blog about them potentially having interest in Trouba.
A trade proposed, and a survey on the proposed trade yielded very close results...perhaps indicating the value is roughly close?
To NYR:
-Trouba (with extension),
-Perrault (2x$4.125m, 0% retained)
to WPG:
-Pionk (RFA),
-Vesey,
-WPG's 2019 1st,
-TBL 2019 2nd,
(cap space needed to re-sign Laine/Connor from including Perrault at full, CAP SPACE IS AN ASSET!)
The cap space comment is mainly attributed to taking on Perrault's contract for 2 years. At 31, and his production of 15/15/30 it isn't ideal, but not cripling either.
Interesting.
Could the Sabres grab him for
-Risto
-2019 late 1st
Would they have to add something like Nylander? |

Beyond false is a bit extreme.
While you are right, those cap dumps mostly go away after next season, thay are in fact on this roster for the upcoming off-season and are in fact holding back a fair amount of cap space that could be used now to improve the team.
We all female dog about Okposo's contract, and rightfully so due to its size and length given production.
However, we then can't merely blow off the impact on the limitations this off season from $12.75 wasted on:
-Scandella $4.0.m
-Hunwick. $2.25m
-Sheary. $3.0m
-Sobotka. $3.5m

Why does everyone want to give up so much for players, Risto has value all by himself in a deal. Why should we give up all this extra. I'll keep Risto over Trouba. This is Jacob Trouba not Brent Burns. |
