The 2nd best Dman in this class is a worse prospect than any of the 2nd tier FWDs. - DrChristianTroy
Every draft has a minimum of 1 dman that turns into a top pairing, and multiple that turn into top 4. A top 6 forward is generally not worth more than a top 4 dman. Soderstrom has nice top 4 upside. He is not my choice, but I don't see him as a wrong choice. |

As I said all along I am leaving the picks to Brackett and co. I think there is a few serviceable Dman . I seen Broberg York Heinola Soderstrom play and they are all reliable . Seider is another guy but not on anyone's radar.
I really think the US players Boldy Caulfield Zegras Hughes Turcotte Will all be gone by the time our pick is there and I don't particularly care for any Canadian forwards so I would rather load up on D this year. - VANTEL
I menationed Sieder 4 months ago, he's on many scouts radar because he can actually skate for a big fella. Didn't really look good before this year, one of those late developers in their draft year types. He'll go in the bottom half of the first round (which means is literally on everyone's radar). |

York has really stood out in the last few games I have watched. Sort of reminds me of how Woo plays.
And I agree, all we can do is trust that Brackett and Company did their homework. |

"I’d take Krebs pass on Caulfield. Even reach for maybe a Brink or better yet trade down."
BTW - Bobby Brink and Cole Caufield, depending on the site, have a difference of 2 inches in height. Caufield at 10 is blasphemy, Brink at 10 is ok? Just so I am clear - Codes1087
1) Newhook at 10
2) Trade down
3) Brink if they like him |

Id prefer Newhook to any of the D not named Byram (assuming Boldy/ zegras are gone) |

He's one the few that actually has a good shot and is a righty. He'd be solid IMO. I honestly don't mind a winger here but my preference is D because it seems so few good ones' really become available and when they do they get paid. |

Newhook is very good, seen him a few times in Vic. Crazy speed and puck skills. I'd like that pick if they converted him to the wing. Before this year I thought he would go top5. I think he may be a guy a team takes before us kind of like Caufield, they will both be higher on some draft boards IMO. |

I can’t even fathom how people can watch these players & conclude that Soderstrom has comparable developmental upside at 10th overall to any one of several forwards who could be there... but to each their own I guess. |

It all comes to personal choice. I know we will get a good player if Brackett is running the show.
It comes down to wait and see for me.
Canada has some decent forwards but they don't make me think game changers so I want a Dman. |

I don’t watch a lot of Blazers games in order to see the Rockets play but whats the book on Thomson and Korczac? |

Vlasic is another Dman that will probably be very good in about 4 years. Looks very steady back there . He is not a 10 th pick but someone will get a very good prospect in the 15-20 range. |

And I don't understand how you can say he doesn't. If the top 9 is textbook(unlikely) and say Caufield is the highest ranked foreard at 10, is Soderstrom a bad choice over him? Maybe Krebbs is seen as too much of a Sutter ceiling. Maybe Soderstroms top 4 upside better than Newhooks top 6 at 10. Outside the top 3, it is usually a crapshoot and you don't know who is right or wrong until years later. |

Great speed and a smart player. Could look good on the LW next to Piety |

A lot of boards have at least one team reaching for d in the top 10. This makes a lot of sense to me in terms of how this could play out, and if so it makes it hard to not pick a forward for JB as even more forward skill slides down. |

Yeah, he's got a bit of everything and would be the fastest forward on our team. I wouldn't hate more speed/skill oriented players. |

Great fit for Canucks, pretty much anyone would be better than Green. - Makita
Green was on the radio this morning, if you read between the lines, he basically throws Benning under the bus for putting together a poop team. Just thought that might make you appreciate him a little more (or hate him a little less...) |

I watched one game, I liked what I saw from Lassi when I watched. Good offensive vision. He's a shooter, through and through. Heavy used on the powerplay, I think he had 5 or 6 shots against the royals. They must have just told him to fire everything, you can see why though cause he has a cannon. Pure offence, lots to learn defensively. |

I didn't get that sense . Jim got the three players he asked for last year. |

I want to correct erroneous media reports that I tried to hire Dean Lombardi. In fact, I've never spoken to Dean Lombardi in my life.
