Maurice is safe for another year. Laviolette I could see getting the axe, but it's hard to tell. |

still nothing lol
To be honest they played like they had been since they knew they were in the playoffs months ago ...Colorado played like they had been in the playoffs for months ...very well coached team with all the players buying in ...but should be in tough if they get Vegas - Redmile247
Vegas 'should' be done. Patches, Stone and Stasny have all gone cold. Sharks series to lose now. |

Considering gas prices it's cheaper to do a pile of coke and just run everywhere! - SMBDragon
Well if the idiot Horgan and the GreenDP would allow the pipeline through BC wouldn't have to whine about gas prices...but they would find something to whine about anyways. |

A few musings:
Best or worst playoffs in recent memory? Other than the Islanders, the Caps, Bruins and Sharks are the only “top” seeds still alive. I think Toronto and Vegas (lower seed) move on tonight, and the Caps tomorrow.
The problem with Vancouver management is that they don’t recognize player decline. Hamhuis looked decent as a third pairing guy. If they bring Edler back for more than one year, at a top pairing salary they will regret it. He probably won’t be their best defender even next year.
I seem to recall Tampa complaining about the playoff format, having to play either Toronto or Boston in round two (both 100+ point teams), but seriously, Carolina had 99. I guess they got caught looking past their direct opponent.
If you’re the Penguins do you talk to Crosby about a change of Scenery? If they blew that team up, Rangers style, I bet they could be relavent again in three or four years. Which teams have the assets, cap space and desire to go all in for a Crosby or Malkin? |

He just never seems to get it done when it matters, but 1 goal in a must win game? RyJo, Turris, Subban et al need a shakeup. |

Disagree, they recognize decline but the problem is that they wait too long out of loyalty for said players.
When Benning came in, he had no loyalty and had some vets waive NTC. Over time, he became reluctant to move "his guys" out of loyalty compounded by his reluctance to move on from his mistakes ie Vey.....
For me, thats where the problem lies....old boys club and not treating it like a business. there are flaws to both but in Bennings case, hes slow to adapt..... |

Eriksson and a 6th to Columbus for a 7th? They’re going to need players next season after all their UFAs walk. |

My point, I guess, is that Edler will probably be the second best LHD as soon as next season, and a dependable bottom pairing guy for the next several years after that. But because he’s been the top guy for so long, the Canucks don’t recognize the danger of what his salary and declining play will do to the rest of the team.
Who was the coach in the NBA that was making poop money, surrounded by players making 10’s of millions who got no respect? Was it with the 76’ers or the Wizards maybe?
The guys making the most need to be the best, by a large margin. |

I think SJ and BOS will move on. Babcock/Matthews rift is still going on and SJ can close out VGK at home. Hoping anyways.
Playoff format does suck though. Needs to go back to 1 vs 8 or 1 vs 16. But Bettman will have 20 teams in the PO's shortly after Seattle comes in so it will be interesting to see how Bettman helps out certain markets.
Pretty tough to move on from Crosby/Malkin but could see a housecleaning of sorts in PIT. Letang, Kessel, and a few others could be out. |

Canada doesn't produce gasoline from its oil reserves. Different kind of oil. Gasoline for cars comes from middle east supplies and Texas (Brent and Texas intermediate). Canada oil no good for cars.
I believe most of our oil goes into manufacturing. Someone with better knowledge may correct me... |
