So he isnt 22, but how much more contract control could you want at 3 years 4.5 cap hit for a guy that scores at a 20g pace with two 30g seasons at an average ice time under 17 mins?
At some point bonafide NHL players need to be brought in. Since we have let so many go - ieetbred
I'm not gonna trash the idea. I think it's a pretty reasonable proposal, I'd just want to go younger
For me, if I'm trading in the division, I'd go Cirelli and Gourde for Risto. Maybe we'd have to add Erod. |

I know Cirelli is a younger guy, but Kadri is only 1 year older than Gourde

I do like Cirelli he’s a hidden gem he’s going to be like Bergeron In the near future
Hopefully Tampa doesn’t see that yet |

Cirelli is the key piece moving forward. Gourde is a nice complementary piece (imo) that makes the cash flow even, and his NTC doesn't kick in til July 1 |

I get that, just curious what you were thinking.
Kinda seemed like everyone in management was pretty upset. Like someone lied to them or mislead them to believe something that wasnt true. - Boss34
I’m thinking they met with Babcock,
and he was all in- but had to check with wifey
In the meantime...
got a last ditch offer from the Leafs,
and Wifey said she’d rather live in Toronto
But who knows?
That’s just my guess
It certainly could’ve been him using us to get more $$$ from the Leafs
I’m just not gonna act like i know for sure what happened one way or the other |

Broken pucks - TheSabresTaco
Seems like our Nylander plus Larsson/Girgs might be in the ballpark of getting it done
But that’s from the fans
Who knows what their GMs thoughts would be?
I even got an offer of their Nylander for ours straight up
Leafs fans are pretty p!ssed at Willie |

I’m not trying to sound like a smart a$$ and I’m definitely not trolling, but a lot of people on this site always says that Buffalo should trade for this guy, or trade for that guy. If my memory serves me correctly the 3 players that were any good that were acquired in trades are gone and is possibly leaving. O’reilly, Kane and Skinner. The Sabres track record for trades aren’t very good. Their free agent signing are probably worst. Continue building through the draft and hopefully they can turn out some stars. |

Good post. Skinner isn’t gone, yet. However building through the draft is the way to go forsure. |

It's probably Gourde or Miller before their clauses kick in on July 1. Tampa needs to shed cash
I'd take Gourde over Miller.
If we have to take Callahan, maybe you can get Callahan, Gourde, Cirelli and Foote for Risto, perhaps Erod and a mid-rounder and Olofsson |

And that doesn’t include Laaksonen (RD)
I gotta say though...
Was disappointed in what i read & heard about Samuelsson this year
Was expecting him to be more dominant
Seemed to have struggles
And has a lot of work to do with his skating
I know it’s good (really more like “ok”) for his size,
but it’s got a ways to go (supposedly) for him to be a Top4 guy in the NHL |

Lol Botts better stick to his (frank)ing guns this time get Cirelli and Foote or Foote and gourde or Miller and Cirelli or Miller and Foote
If he doesn’t end up with one of Cirelli or Foote for 24 D that gets a year 40pts and -1356777

So hang on to our second 1st, right? That's what I'd prefer. Folks promote the idea of another "Montour-Type deal" but those are rare. And also people forget, we gave up a good prospect in Guhle to make that deal happen. We don't have enough of those as it is. |

I agree. Cirelli has to be part of the deal. I don't think you're getting Foote without Callahan. Might even need a small sweetener on the sabres end
Cirelli, Foote and Callahan for Risto and ERod?
It would pain me to see Erod go |

I would keep it but then again idk who is available. If we can swing a deal for a young forward who is in the 22-24 range that can help this team I’m all for it. Like you said though, trades like that are hard to come by. |

Just speaking value here,
to try & balance the trade...
Risto > Foote
Callahan (Cap Space) = Gourde
Larsson/E Rod < Cirelli
Maybe something along those lines?
That only saves them about 4mil though
So we might have to take back another salary like Kilorn,
and then add something back to them that’s cheap (Tage? Cj Smith?)
Then they’re saving like 8mil +
And that’s what they’d need |
