If it's the Rangers, probably more than other teams.
They know he wants to be a Ranger, but they could go to the Rags and say "We're going to let other teams negotiate with him, and not you, so either you pay what we want, or we see if he'd be willing to play in Jersey or on Long Island next year instead." |
