Well Kadri did it an inch higher and it was 5 games on top of the major, and no one was left in a bloody pile on the ice.

I genuinely feel like the "was it a penalty or no" is 100% not necessary. They gave up 4 goals on that PP. You don't belong in the next round if that happens. End of story. The fact of it being a penalty or not is completely voided by that fact. if it's a 1 goal game and that happens then we can talk. They had a 3 goal lead and gave up 4 on the PK, you choked, own it and move on

they got screwed but they helped the situation...how many goals allowed in a 5 minute span? Their performance was as bad as that call.

Penalty or not, the refs can't be blamed.

The refs didn't blow a 3-1 series lead.
The refs didn't give up a cupcake in overtime of game 6.
The refs didn't give up 4 goals in less than 5 minutes.
The refs didn't go 0-2 in overtime games.

In these playoffs so far, the league has made it clear that a cross check will only be called if there’s an injury. Pavelski gets cross checked up high, it’s end of the game for him, a major get is assessed and Eakins gets tossed. Kadri cross checks DeBrusk in the side of the head, DeBrusk goes to the locker room, a major is assessed and Kadri gets tossed. Byfuglien cross checks Pietrangelo in the back of the head while he’s down, Peitrangelo keeps playing, no penalty assessed.

The odd thing here is intent. I don’t think Eakins intended for any of that to happen, whereas Kadri and Byfuglien’s actions were decidedly purposeful. Officiating needs to be more consistent across the board.

Quite frankly I am tired of hearing the complaints about this penalty already. Number 1although I agree looking at the penalty it should not have been called a 5 minute major only a 2 at tops. BUT why up 3-0 with 10 minutes to go in a game 7 would you even take that risk by using your stick high on a guy off a faceoff of all things...number 2, correct me if I am wrong but to give up 4 goals in 4 minutes of the power play is aweful. They COULD have killed the penalty or at best given up maybe a goal at worse scenario. Apparently the better team DID move on in this series!

I don't think it was a major penalty but probably a 2min minor. But Vegas also had plenty of chances to win the series. Come on they let the Sharks score shorthanded in 2OT in game 6.
