1-0 Marlies - mhp
Are you surprised ? Taylor keeps playing the worst goalie in the AHL playoffs. Watch us not score again though and we can listen to Sexton tell us all about how amazing of a job he did this year. |

Not surprised at all. Wedgewood got out of position. They haven't generated much offense so far. They're playing scared, not desperate. |

Did Toronto send Matthews, Marrner and company down to see how it feels to win in the First round ? |

Sabres will probably announce Taylor's promotion to Sabres head coach after the sweep is complete.

They were excited for a deep run this year though. All of the players were talking about how confident they were to bring a championship home... LOL |

If Risto is a (the only?) way to acquire a top 6 F, though, it has to be considered |

Unless it is for Risto, then it does set-up a Risto trade, and locks Letang into Dahlin's partner.
If Pens need cap space, hopefully not a whole bunch of value going back...maybe a Borgan type.
Letang would bring a solid veteran and cup winner...would have to be respected.
Then, depending on who they trade Risto for, could be quite good actually. |

Right.
I wouldn't hate it as long as, like you said, it's for the right return. |

9th highest paid d man right now
karlsson and doughty jump him for sure
when guys like petry are making 5.5 per it's not out of line as I still view him as a top 20 d man
but that ticker scares me |

Older, yes.
More expensive, yes.
Less defensively responsible? Highly debatable. Risto is one of the worst defensively responsible Dmen in the league. Can't defend, can't transition. He sucks defensively.
I am not saying Letang is great defensively 'cause he is flawed there as well.
His transition game is much better though, and his possession metrics are decent as well. |

He'll be 32, 33, 34 through the last three years of his deal, turning 35 at the end of April the final year of his deal.
When was the last time the Sabres ever had a true top pair on defense? |

if you change the face of the team up front for a more up tempo team, this is a much better d core for that situation |
