Am I wrong? What do teams typically look for when trading a superstar? 4 pieces is about average. Blah, blah and a first. It was rumoured to have been #5, Bo something to MTL. This isn't trolling, it's what Benning has demonstrated as his MO from the past. - 1970vintage

Kadris been part of the reason the Leafs have gotten knocked out both of the last 2 years. If I were building a playoff team I wouldn't want someone who's proven himself to be emotionally unstable - NorthNuck
He's been suspended twice and they have been playing without him. They were winning the series until he got kicked out.
Time to view it from a perspective that the Leafs have Major holes. There best RHD is Zaitsev, he's also the only right hand D.
Do they have a selke defence center like Boston does to shut down other teams top lines? Kadri would be the best defensive center they have.
Experience vs youth
The leafs are a long ways off and Dubas is probably not the guy to take them there. |

Leafs are a top 10 team but need work.
Dubas and Bads are a great duo. A smug young puckerhole and a crusty old puckerhole .
Kadri is an ass but I would take him . Same as I would take a Marchand or E.Kane. You can hate them as fans of other teams but they help your team.

With Nylander likely available this offseason, would you guys trade for him? He may be a perimeter guy, but Bo and Pearson are not, his playmaking abilities could do very nicely with them. - Retinalz
Sure. Nylander plus a 2nd for Palmu. His contract has negative value |

They are a top 10 team in some categories but they still lack like I said an entire right side of defence and other than Kadri almost no one who is good defensive forward. Matthews in a couple years possiblly but not yet. They have a lot of trade chips whether they use them properly unlike they have in the past couple years.
I see Dubas in the same category as Chyka. Learning but a long ways off. |

I think Kane or Marchand would have a much greater positive impact on a team than Kadri, even if he doesn't get himself suspended again. |

I'm not for Ferland. I would rather Ander's Lee or Kevin Hayes. Both can play centre which Ferland has not. In case and when someone get's injuried. - manvanfan
Yeah I like Hayes as well but sure like what Ferland could bring...just not the price tag he and his agent wants lol |

And if you are going to cross check someone in the face blatantly at least do it to Marchand FFS. |

I'm not defending Babcock but I see the Leafs the same type of team that the Oilers had for years. A lot of soft skilled forwards. Only difference is that Anderson can stop a puck once in a while and they have a number 1 D man in Reilly. |

Kadri as a second line center score 30 plus goals and had 55 and 61 points. He dropped to 45 this year as a third line center.
I understand he makes cheap shots sometimes but he is also the first guy to defend your players. He is also locked in at 4.5 mil for three more years and at the end would have value as a trade chip.
I always liked him and think he would be a POSitive |

I don't see him as someone who defends other players. I see him as someone who takes a cheap shot at a guy because he either doesn't like something he did 10 minutes prior, or is mad about a clean check. |

His suspension to Debrusk was in retaliation to the Marleau hit 10 seconds earlier.

Ya, I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you here. Does anyone really believe that PK is a superstar anymore?
Kid is 30 in a couple weeks, scored just under .5 PPg this season with a BLOATED contract.....given that Nashville is hovering around the cap next season, I think PK can be had at a reasonable price.
Lets say Vancouver sends over Kole Lind, Virtanen and a salary dump contract of their own - Sutter or Eriksson...
I'm not too sure that this kind of offer wouldnt get it down. Then again, I'm not a GM or privy to PK's value around the league.
For Nashville, you are clearing big time $$$$ off the cap to go after, say, Myers, get 2 solid prospects, 1 with big time speed and a guy who could definitely help a team like this in the playoffs.
Now, Sutter and Eriksson arent game breakers by any stretch but offer Nashville solid depth and experience. Just my 2 cents. I just really doubt that to acquire PK would break the bank anymore....
Nashville lineup:
Forsberg/Johansen/Granlund
Arvidsson/Turris/Smith
Jarnkrok/Bonino/Virtanen
Watson/Sutter/Sissons
Josi/Myers
Ekholm/Ellis
Hamhuis/Fabbro
Better or worse than their current team? I'd argue better, simply by addition by subtraction - ya know? |

Comes down to what people put ahead of another skill. Zegras has crazy skills but he's doesn't have the physical side, isn't going to forecheck hard. Doesn't play center regularly. I'm not sure he kills penalties either.
When it comes time to drafting teams will take their best player available in that tier of players that they need. Example Colorado and Chicago have both drafted RHD in past couple drafts. They also both have young centers. It's a toss up whether they want another forward or Byram.
Det probably go winger since Larkin, Rasmussen, Veleno. Or Byram if he is still there.
I can't see him sliding past 8 but I see players like Robert Thomas drop to 20th who I think should be a 10-15 pick and no further in just about any draft. - manvanfan
Zegras wins puck battles with his brain & body positioning ... then makes mind blowing passes out of them. His spacing & the spacing he creates for his linemates is absolutely insane. If GMs pass on his skillset because he doesn’t PK, I guess it shows why they’re picking top 5. |

Amen. Kadri’s the only player on that team who has heart. No brains, but plenty of heart. |
