Don't worry, Daniel Jones is gonna be the savior. - tomburton99
Cowheard begged NYG not to pick him. No QB out of college without at least a 60% completion rate ever did well in NFL. Jones had a 53%.
Anything can happen, but to pick him so high is dumb. Get Allen, or another rusher, than trade up the 17th pick or something |

You a big Cowherd fan? He loves to tout his own horn a lot...he also said don't take Baker mayfield last year
Saying all of that Jones was a dumb pick at 6 |

Out of 58 QBs selected in the 1st Round over the previous 20 seasons, Daniel Jones' career 6.2 AY/A is equal or better than just Jake Locker, Patrick Ramsey and Kyle Boller.

I read a stat that Jones was rated only the 7th best QB in the ACC last year |

really I think the simplest explanation for the Giants is they are not ready to say goodbye to Eli yet, they see him having another 1-2 years, and they took a guy that can seemlessly take over once Eli is actually done and they wont have to change the offense one bit

I guess that's the biggest question....i just don't see the overall talent to be a productive starter in the league |

Not a fan of him, but really can't argue with that stat. Hope he's wrong

but he looked good in the senior bowl, apparently he had a really good 3 down stretch |

Honestly Giants should have went for one of the defensive studs and traded a 2nd rounder for Rosen. They have like 12 picks this year, could have given up one
That would make me feel much better if I was Giants fan |

I heard that they have selected the last 4 senior bowl MVP's or something and they all suck |

I always try to defer to the "GM knows more than us" mantra, but Giants making it very hard to believe that. |

yea the last 3 I think...so crazy
But the fact they seemed to have decided on this pick based greatly on the senior bowl is just ridiculous |

This his the first time he has had to really pick his own QB
When he was with the Bills they already had Jim Kelly
With the Panthers they already had Cam Newton
And with the Giants they already had Eli
Putting a lot in this. Either he will come off as a genius or a fool |

They have to look at Darnold in the same town and Haskins in the same division, it has the potential to blow up in their face big time. Like anything draft related you just never know right away, but on paper this level of stupidity is like taking Lindbom |

At least with Olaf, it wasn't in the first round and they were just trying to stockpile a position. This had no real benefit. Even Kyler makes pennies on his rookie contract, but picking him in the top 10 is going to cost the Giants more money too. They entered the draft with the worst qb in the division, they left the draft with the worst qb in the division. |

Hoping Darnold takes the next step here this season. Bell was a great acquisition and happy with the Williams pick. All the Giants negative talk, how about the Jets very solid pick? |
