I remember that, wasn't he just being a tool as always and trying to insinuate "awww, you made me cry, wahhhh"?
Barnaby 1 punch KO'd Jim Cummins of the Isles around that time too, couldn't believe it. Barnaby never usually faired well in fights. He did have a good rivalry w Asham for a few years there. - B2B76
Barnaby definitely wasn't the most skilled fighter but he never seemed to avoid them. I remember him getting demolished a few times. |

It's a shame he was actually a crazy person in real life too. I recall him having some serious domestic issues. |

Brashear tuned him up, Chara too, but he def would go. But then he would do the fakeouts which made no sense, I mean it would draw penalties but earned him no respect. Avery did a few times too, others as well, they weren't the only ones. Just always hated that |

He’s on Sirius now with a daily show and I never pictured him the way he is on the air. He sounds like the nicest and smartest dude that ever played hockey its just weird. Stu Grimson and John Scott too, very smart guys. It’s very odd how the perception of the goons when the played change when they retire. |

I think it's a lot less ridiculous because we are supposed to hate the Rangers.
Chanting about one of the best defensemen to ever play the game sucking because he injured a Ranger on a clean hit in the 70's is kinda silly. It'd be like the Isles chanting that Messier blows because he choked Jason Blake until his face looked like a tomato
It's all stupid, on both sides, and none of it bothers me. I just roll my eyes when I hear it when the Rangers are playing like the Coyotes on a Sunday afternoon - eichiefs9
Of course. Its (frank)ing retarded |

I thought Grimson was a very devout Christian too. Joey Kocur was also supposedly a real classy, charitable guy off the ice. Its a job and even an act out there at times. Such a shame the days of the tough guy are dead. I know you & I have talked for years about the old days and different fighters here. |

Look at the early 90s Islander/Ranger games. You had entire 4th lines that did little but fight. Kris King centering Kocur & Domi vs Baumgartner/Vukota/Randy Wood or Gary Nylund. Plus the rest of the lineup who usually could handle themselves well. It was actually rare back then for players who couldn't fight...cough, cough Jeff Bloemberg. |

Yup and there was another Goon who played in the NHL from Princeton, I can't remember his name. I think he was on the Ducks for a little while

Played for Carolina and Calgary. He was part of that line brawl with the Canucks that set off Torts. He took the opening faceoff. He's married to Bill Cowher's daughter.
