Just cause Isles are down 2-0 doesn't mean you have to be a D hole

Isles need jobu pronto to release the curse on their hockey sticks. I can’t remember so many golden opportunities to score goals for a team and not one went in. Slavin scored for them yesterday

Canes even spotted them a goal to make it interesting, and they still lost. Canes gonna sweep?

Don't think they will sweep, but they seem to have the right amount of luck and team chemistry right now to go pretty far.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen, or that it's even likely to happen, but if there were ever a series where a team down 2-0 can climb out of that hole it's gonna be this one.

For all I read about the Islanders being unable to score (that's obviously true) it's not like the Canes have wiped the floor with them or are scoring a ton either. They largely beat themselves yesterday and game one took a comically-bad turnover in OT to decide what was a 0-0 game. Injuries are mounting for Carolina and the Isles are relatively healthy. I'm hardly panicking yet. Another loss Wednesday and I'll be real worried, but right now it's not insurmountable.

The best thing that could happen is Leo Komarov finally contributes something to this team and skates full speed down the ice and two-foot-dropkicks McElhinney feet-first in the neck

Sure, but Carolina is also monstrously shorthanded. They were down 6 regulars by the end of the game yesterday and have been icing an entire line of AHL players since game 7.

A couple days of rest might be all it takes to get Svechnikov, Martinook and Ferland back into the lineup.

Carolina/Isles series so far reminds me of the Rangers/Kings SCF. No matter what the Rangers did, out played them, luck, etc.. It seemed the kings were destined to win that series and nothing could change that.

Thats why I see the Canes winning, it don't matter if you out play them , you will still lose

When you have team that goes all out for a coach and/or each other, that’s one seriously dangerous team. And they have John Druce reincarnated in Warren Foegle

Yeah them being shorthanded is kinda my point. I don't think it's impossible for the Islanders to crawl out of a 2-0 hole.

I'm not convinced any of those guys will be back at all in this series. I know Svechnikov is skating but I don't totally buy that he's ready. Entirely possible I'm wrong and he's back for game 3, but coaches love to try to mess with their counterparts' heads. Martinook couldn't even stand up less than a week ago, I'm not convinced that he's going to be any big boost to the lineup.

What happen to Cluttebuck yesterday? He couldn’t get off the bench without getting a wedgie from Martin

I don't know, I haven't seen anything yet. That line seems like they've finally turned into a pumpkin.
