Everyone sells the isles meanwhile they swept the Penguins. I wouldn't sleep on this isles team.....they're playing for a purpose.

It most likely will for the first ten mins or period. Just have to hope Lehner can weather the storm. Hopefully it doesn’t take them long to get going...

I think you're gonna see the Cizikas line start the game and set the tone. To me, for the isles to succeed they need Bailey and Nelsons line to continue producing.

What I meant was they're the lowly islanders who even with a better record and home ice are underdogs vs the canes I believe.

A guy I played hockey with in college knew the Craigslist Killer and I unknowingly went to a party he was at once

Closest I got to anything like that is doing work at the American civic association in Binghamton where the guy killed 13 people, everytime I go in there I think about what it must have been like when he walked in. Theres only a exit out the back and he parked his car against it ......

Advance stats folks like the Canes, other folks prefer the Isles.

Personally, I think the Isles take it solely due to goaltending, because if Lehner slips we have been able to score on Greiss for a decade.

Heart says Canes in 6, Brain says Isles in 7.

Im sure others disagree, but to me, advanced stats mean next to nothing come playoffs.. Its a different animal. There's no stat for a guy like Cizikas who will eat any puck shot...
I agree about Lehner...….he's been absolutely amazing thus far. I hope it doesn't go to a game 7, as Justin Williams is scary

I'd be more worried about Svechnikov coming back. Kid was on fire before he got punched the (frank) out

That Penguins team was soft. And Lehner is about to come back to earth. And the Isles can't keep this pace up. Just ask the Leafs fans.

Leaf fans continue to praise Tavares for his career season, yet the supposed cup winning leafs (July 2), are out. I don't get the rationale....? Wonder boy Dubas had business to address that weak backend.

Biggest difference is in play styles and on defence, IMO.

The Penguins attacked hard, but never really seemed like they were all on the same page and the Isles were able to counter-punch them into oblivion.

The Canes play a very different game, and the defence is a LOT faster than what the Pens brought. Everything flows through the D, and they're real good at making sure the puck never even gets in their own zone.

Penguins tried to strike off the rush, Canes let the defence run the show and use the forwards to try and smother you.

No idea. Might be tonight, might not be for a week, but he's really close.

This was actually a really good breakdown of the Barzal/Ebs connection and has some good points re: this series at the end

They don't really rush the puck, they just skate it up to the red line, flip it in and then the forwards go and hammer away to try and get the puck back.

It's not pretty, but they do a good job of getting it back.

What the D do is step up hard on the puck carrier in the neutral zone. If you can make them miss, you'll get a good chance.

Both teams play a similar style. Its gonna come down to who makes more mistakes.

Maybe, but I think it comes down to who scores more goals.

Technically speaking the canes could win 5 0 in game one and lose the next 4 games 1 0 and lose even though they scored more
