Did anybody notice that out of 15 writers on NHL.com 14 of them chose the Islanders to win this series. I know that means nothing but have to agree with them, I really think the Islanders will win in five.

Crazy thing is as much as Washington physically crushed the Canes, every time it looked like that was going to make a longer-term difference the Canes bounced back. I don't know if it was more Washington taking its foot off the gas whenever it looked like the Canes were going to fade, or the Canes finding ways to battle back without feeling the need to out-physical the Caps...or maybe a combination of both...but that's what I think is scariest about facing them: They don't go away even when it looks like they should.

But I think if the Isles can forecheck them the way they did the Pens, that'll be a lot for the Canes' D to handle. The Caps seemed to do that in random waves...the Isles have to be relentless.

Canes seem to be resilient and they are a fast transition team that can cause the isles some headaches. They also have a raucous crowd that they feed off of like the isles do at home so that could also be tough to win in carolina, caps were 0 3 there. Isles will be ok if they limit the high danger chances (canes shoot a ton) and clog up the neutral zone and are patient and counter attack with numbers. Lehner has played well but so has mrazek idk if the later can keep it up he was good in the caps series though
