No offense taken:

Sabres need to break this trend of not icing the best team possible.

How many teams have done this for going on 6 years?

Tank for 23 should have taken leon
Tank for mceichel
Sorta try , but fail and take nylander (which was a fail)
Trade no one at the deadline/ draft mitts
Completely tank for dahlin, svech or tkachuk
Not ice the best linup/ no 2C

In between , trade ror, and ek9 for futures

Agree that they need to break the string of losing...the question is what is the best approach.

Many on here continue to take GMTM over the coals for speeding the rebuild, most notably for bringing in ROR too early...but TM stated he need a center to shield a very young Eichel so not to destroy his development.
Now, here we are with many of the same poster urging GMBotts do be more aggressive because they don't want to lose anymore.

Seems like talking out of both sides of one's face.

He will make moves in the offseason, we all agree.
Is he going to be able to pull off all that is needed.
Nope.
Settle in for a season in which they possibly get to 90 points...not 98 that are generally needed.

Your list of needs is an optimal roster.

A roster doesn’t need to be optimal to get in. And getting in is a different (in my mind better) way to succeed.

Still having Girgs, Erod, Larson, Okposso, Bogo, Scandella is far from optimal.
They need to move 90% of them out as well to get to contender.
Those other moves identified were/are the bare minimum they need to move into competitive status.
74sh points? (I'm trying to forget)

I really liked gmtm

Loved the ror move
Eichel and ror as 1/2 centers

Ek9 top line winger

Problem was every other move was really bad.

Jbotts needs to do something (less conservative) this off season

They are completely losing their fan base.
Kids in buffalo actually have other favorite teams

Cant let that happen

I'd rather bring in 5 quality guys from this draft then 3 or 4 and 6 or 7 practice squad players

package some of the 7th round picks and the 6th round pick to move up a few spots and get your man in rounds 3-5

Makes sense

Looks like a pretty deep draft too
We have 2 picks in the 4th, and 2 in the 5th
If we can hit on those picks,
that’ll help fill a lot of the holes we still have
