Only watched the third period of this game, but sure seems like Columbus is much stronger physically than Boston.
Sad to see Boston tie it up, really want them to lose. Yes, I’m a sore loser. - bartsch
I don't believe the Bruins can stand up to the pounding that CBJ is putting on them - it will wear out the Bruins stars... that is of course if the officials don't decide to insert themselves into the conversation.
Of course there's no guarantee that they don't just call some random crap after letting absolutely everything go. |

No, don’t think so, haven’t seen him. But Clifton is back in. - bartsch
CBJ looks huge though. BOS is a tough team when they want to be, skilled when they don't, so I think they'll be ok. |

The pass on the second goal by Boston was fantastic. They are a much better team they people give them credit for, including me.
Like the way CBJ played though. |

Both teams are not afraid to drive to the inside; we shrunk away from the center of the ice on 34/29's lines a little too much. |

A 22 year old winger that can play C, and already has 2 60+ point seasons. Yeah.. No trade value at all....SMH. - PatC80
Melander can play C? I seen him take some faceoffs and float down the middle.. that's not exactly playing C. Maybe in Junior. |

Leafs need a captain.
It should be Rielly. But I’ll accept Nylander too. |

Well having sat back and listened to all the clean out and news coming out have to say nothing really shocking or surprising there at all really...
Babcock thinks he is fine and it's the roster and not having enough of what he needed to do what he wants. Seems totally disconnected with Dubas and the team, and not sure at all that with Matthews wanting more toi etc that this is going to end well for him. I think honestly making a change is the right thing but they also might ride him another year and see. That said it reminds me of the movie the Replacements with Gene Hackman female doging he was fired and the owner going, "you got into a pissing contest with a million dollar player, who did you think was going to win?".
Dubas is a methodical and very focused GM. Said the right things, took responsibility on things and really seems to have the plan and be on the right page with Shanny etc. I think he makes a move to bring in his guys as coaching staff really here. Babs was not his hire after all. Think he already has a strong plan in place for the offseason that is just starting to get going.
Hyman.... ok don't care who doesn't like him. That is one tough SOB playing hurt and continuing to slam about, win board battles, puck battles etc. NEVER quit at all. Yeah he so stays on this team!
Gards and Kadri... buh-bye! The latter MiB finally gets his wish after so very very long! Can also see Brown going as well. Showed up a bit in the playoffs with some banging and crashing but ultimately he is just... there... and when we aren't using him on the PK much at all, what's the point of his salary on a 4th line?
Some talk, even if it is Dreger, Oz is heading back to KHL. Can see it. Why stay if you are the bottom pairing and going to be scratched. While he is a bigger guy and RHD, think we can get someone more physical and more engaged at the NHL level really so won't lose any sleep there if he moves on.
Curious to see what moves Dubas makes here come the offseason, who goes and who comes. Going to be an interesting offseason to be sure. We are getting there and still far more hope ahead as we mature and get better.
Also looking forward to see who can make the jump up from the Marlies. Rosen, Sandin, Bracco, Marchment, maybe Engvall etc etc etc.
Lots to look forward to despite the dissapointing end to the season. |

Trade Nylander, not Kadri. Kadri being used correctly by the new coach will be one of the best contracts in the league. Leafs need to lose the fluff. |

Leafs need to shed 7 mill even with gardiner and hainsey walking. In order to pay marner, kap and johnson. They need to acquire a defenseman to play with reilly money in ,money out. Theres a few good guys on marlies to replace traded players. Brocco will be good. Had nylander numbers with marlies. Id trade for hurricanes pesce at 4 mill to play with reilly. Muzzin and zaitsev then dermott and rosen. Maybe one of the young swedes |

Honestly I am 50/50 on Kadri. Hate his loose canon never learning idiocy on the ice, and all his prior diving etc, refs just hold a bias period. So on one side I could see moving him. On the flipside yeah for the price and what he brings when he is engaged and playing and NOT getting out of control, like how he utterly shut down McJesus.... I wouldn't have a fit over him staying either.
I think though he goes after this latest fiasco, just a gut feeling there. |

This is true.
But it's also true he held out for more money and did nothing to earn it.
So there's definitely two sides to this coin and his value is definitely lower than we would like it to be.
But nowhere near zero either. |

First, bring back Curtis and send Sparks to the Lightning for a ZIPPO signed by Stamkos.
Second, see about trading Nylander for a big D of not the expensive variety.
Third, keep Kadri but tell the guy behind the bench to either keep him in check or keep him off the ice.
Fourth, discontinue the Gauthier experiment. |

Oh boys, some really filthily bad takes in here. In my bias opinion of course.
As a general notice though to whomever this concerns, cap hits are more accurately assessed as a percentage of cap.
Connor McDavid signing after 16-17 does not put a static cap on what a top player should make.
Inflation is a real thing in all aspects of life, this is pretty common knowledge. |
