It's one of those days, drove my kid to school went back home to shower and then off to work. Get out of the shower and CAN'T FIND MY (frank)ING GLASSES.

So, here I is, blind.

I pictured you as a non glasses person, now I have to adjust that.
this will take some getting used too

not much else has worked out, Jeff Hoffman, Bareto they sent for Donaldson all still very questionable, Kendall Graveman was ok'ish for 1 season

Those 2 jays playoffs are the best sports memories I have in the last 15 years

- senstroll

Ya man, it was so worth it. The bat flip alone was worth seversl prospects.

People also tend to have a blind eye towards the bad decisions that some of those peope make. AA did do some good, but he certainly struck out a whole lot.

He traded away massive amounts of prospects for those runs. Also, he traded away other players and failed like the Beurhle/Reyes/JJ deal, and the Dicckey for Darnaud/Syndergard deal which was awful even at the time.

He traded away good players for Tulo as well. He did a lot of bad along with the good, that cant just be overlooked.

I think that Dubas deserves a chance, and that well judge him after this offeseason and next and see how he has done.

Just because some of them didnt turn into anything doesnt make them good trades. They didnt work for the Blue Jays either for the most part, and dicckey trade was a bad one that didnt even make sense at the time.

He struck out quite a bit on trades. I liked him, but I wouldnt consider him to be some amazing GM that did amazing all the time.

The only prospect the Leafs have is Sandin.. Loljegren, Woll and Scott might be something to get excited about, we’ll see.

Leafs are on the verge of having four players eat up almost half their cap space. Other teams know that. If there ever was an opportunity for an offer sheet...
- SmileandWave

so, an offer sheet is a possiblity - certainly (Dreger will be insufferable for another 20 years if anyone actually makes one)...

here's the genuine questions that I have

1) which teams would be willing to lose 4 first round picks and which teams would Marner actually be interested signing with? I'm guessing that's a fairly short list

2) would moving a contract, such as Marleau's or Nylander's create enough wiggle room for Dubas to not have to worry about the offer sheet?

3) it would be interesting to know how many teams actually have all their 1st rounders for the next four years

4) doesn't the "spectre" of Marner's contract really increase the pressure on Dubas to make a decision about what he's going to do with Nylander's contract...

not sure where the negativity comes from all of a sudden.

liljegren and sandin both are B prospects.
same for Woll - personally I believe he'll be a legit NHL starter for the Leafs in a few years, replacing Freddy.

Leafs have Bracco, who has a decent chance to make the team as well.

They have Borgman (not a prospect, but still a guy at Marlies that I expect to make Leafs team next season).
Marchment, Brooks, Timashov, Rasanen, Rosen, Der-Arguchintsev..

Leafs have a lot of young players already on the NHL roster.
and then a few others soon making it.

Would expect for almost all of the following to be part of Leafs team next 5 years - all of them 25y or younger:

Matthews
Marner
Dermott
Rielly
Moore
Kapanen
Johnsson
Sandin
Liljegren

That's a very decent young core to build around.

Most of thr trades worked out.
We got an mvp, an all star pitcher, two years of deep playoff runs.
Richardey was a bad trade

there would be at least 10 teams willing to give that up for Marner.
Main team that's a threat there imo is New York Rangers (with the 3 first rounders (2 if Dallas does not advance to next round) and 3 2nd rounders they have this year, ánd a possible 1st rounder next year) they could potentially think they can afford to lose those first round picks. They have 2 great young goalies, they have a few good young defensemen, and already drafted quite well last few years. I don't expect Marner to be interested in signing with a lot of teams, but I do think NYR would be on top of the list he might be interested in. To be the face of the NYR franchise is quite an interesting offer.

2) would moving a contract, such as Marleau's or Nylander's create enough wiggle room for Dubas to not have to worry about the offer sheet?
Yes, move Nylander. Can't underpay Marner, or trade Kapanen / Johnsson before trading Willie. All of them have done more than Willie - it would be a horrible mistake to keep Willie over them, mainly for how that woudl impact team morale.

3) it would be interesting to know how many teams actually have all their 1st rounders for the next four years

4) doesn't the "spectre" of Marner's contract really increase the pressure on Dubas to make a decision about what he's going to do with Nylander's contract...

- BorjeFan4Ever

yes, but unfortunately he might first be trading Johnsson and/or Kapanen and/or Zaitsev before trading Willie.

I believe he's conveying only 25 and under players.

so... its should be pretty obvious that you don't keep Nylander if it means not being able to keep Kapanen and Johnsson
