Why couldn't mrazek play like this for us last year - bulet13
Why did Jim Carey win he Vezina once season then never come close to that?
Why did Leighton play solid on the way to the finals?
Goalies have the ability to get hot and carry a team.
I don't think this is Mrazek as he normally plays but rather he has gotten hot. |

Really like the way the Canes play.
Quick, precise puck movement, close support moving up and down the ice, beautifully efficient. Nobody cuts corners, nobody wastes energy on physical stuff away from the play, nobody over-carries the puck, nobody trying to play hero. Just strong team hockey. |

Yup, pretty much the entire theatre was in tears by the end. As far as super hero movies go they really don't get any better than that. Fantastic premise for the movie imo. |

Hot and has the help of pretty dang good team in front of him. Last year's Flyers ≠ this year's Canes. |

I was hoping we could move past this and get back to talking about hockey.

Listen dude, it is in the news everyday including today, all in reference to my favorite hockey team—the Flyers.
As per the usual, it’s okay when it first comes out in the news to make unfounded accusations about someone but by the time real research can be done, no one wants to listen. Sad.

This exactly why I didn't want these two playing. This is like some random Tuesday night game |

The first thing I have to say is that you have the right to post what you want and talk about what you want. However, it's clear that the board has moved on. A lot of the conversation that comes out of it is inappropriate for HB, in my opinion. It's a non story to me. The playoffs are ongoing.

No worries. The conversation was not just inappropriate but lacking facts. Now that more relevant information is available, I am going to talk about it.
And I am not missing playoffs. Wonderful Jerks win again! |

A few random thoughts. If we want a character vet, how about Justin Williams? Proven winner and a home in the area. I love Simmonds but that style takes its toll and he has little left at 5 on 5, I would not bring him back even though he is one of my favorite players ever. Not to mention, we’ve been here with this core for years and it hasn’t worked.
As far as changing the core, I would shop Jake and Ghost. Likely to get a similar player back for Jake but it’s not about that it is about changing the room. A little more options for Ghost due to his friendly contract.
AMac needs to go period. Trade or buyout...most likely buyout. A loser top to bottom.
Not a big fan of Hayes, hope we don’t go that way in FA.
Time to make solid hockey trades: talent for talent. Need a skill winger and center, and quality bottom six players. The garbage we threw out there at the end of the year was embarrassing. Need some hitters and quality defensive forwards.
I hate the red line running through logos and I hate the Flyers dual center ice logo. Do the one logo facing camera and figure out how to limit the red line ruining the look. My favorite logo was the old full moon of the coyotes. A full Flyers logo would look awesome without the red line...marketing. |

I look at a team like the sharks and I feel sorry for a player like Logan Couture. Not only does he battle injuries but he has to fight to get to the top of the depth chart above 50 year old Joe Thornton and his 100 year old beard and 40 year old Joe Pavelski.
Could you imagine Giroux staying here to 40 years of age. Patrick is 28-29 years of age, a good player but Giroux is still taking his ice time?
I don’t know who is where on their depth chart but it seems like Pavelski and Thornton gets all the press. These guys make the plays offs but the young guys are the back bone of most cups. |

Why couldn't mrazek play like this for us last year - bulet13
Mrazek saw no playoffs last season. Mrazek was a bridge, bandaid, whatever you wanna call it, until Elliott and Neuvirth got healthy. We traded for that guy half season, he started fine and the moment he wasn’t perfected behind this average at best defense, we gave up. I don’t care what the numbers say, he was here for half of last year and kept us above water.
I was at the Detroit game in Detroit. That was bad but Hakstol lost faith in a kid that showed that he cared that night. We all knew Elliott and Neuvirth weren’t the answer and we knew there no other options in trade or free agency. Hart and Mrazek would be a great partnership. |

If you're keen on trading Ghost, consider Brent Burns.
There was a time when the Wild couldn't decide whether he was a winger or dman. He was sloppy in his own zone, prone to back-breaking gaffes, and was hugely inconsistent. He ran into some concussion issues. Fans got pretty fed up with his up and downs, and so did Wild management.
Chuck Fletcher traded him to the Sharks and the rest is history. |

So you're saying Fletcher is going to fix his mistake by trading ghost for burns? |

Unless cap space is needed to do something else, a buyout of MacDonald would be stupid.
As far as calling him a loser top to bottom. The player has given his heart and soul to the team, played through injury and provided to the team exactly what he was signed for. He also is well regarded by his teammates and defense partners. Calling him a loser is just plain ignorant. |

I don’t buy him out either; however they just may want to rid themselves of him to get him out of the organization. If so then a buyout is possible.
At half price does a team even bite for a trade? |

Our ahl defense is young and frankly filled with none of the major prospects were accustomed to. I think his season starts there and he can be an injury replacement as we all know those things happen. I dont trade him for a 6th rounder it makes no sense to. |

Makes perfect sense if they no longer want him.
He may not want to play that role of “mentor” for the phantoms. |

He got sent down before and didn't cause a stink. He knows the position that he's in. I suspect he will be waived and sent down. |
