Of course, but that goal was horrible. Still, that guy hasn't impressed me when they get to post season. That's what makes Crawford so awesome. In post season he's a beast. Bob is your great regular season goalie. I'd be shocked if he ever tends a team to a Cup. I'd rather have many goalies than him for the post season.

On edit: Just checked his numbers, yep, his post seasons stats are markedly worse than his regular season stats. Wouldn't want him near my team.

Your probably right, since swept the Lighting i wouldn't bet against him right now. Game 1 Seth Jones with the terrible error of losing his guy so the Bruins could tie it up in regulation.

Fwiw the BJs passing looks so much better than game 1 already

Is it me or is the announcer calling David Savard, Marc Savard?

Actually Savard is just the kind of D man the Hawks need, a big dude who is not afraid of poop. He's getting pummeled yet keeps making plays to get the puck out the zone. Can chip in a little offensively too.

Has there been any talk of Scott Stevens being interested in another coaching role? Seeing him on the nhl network, I was wondering if he was trying to keep his face out there for such an opportunity. He seemed to have received high praise for his last coaching role in Minnesota and listening to him on the nhl network, he seems to do an excellent job breaking down plays and explaining the importance of defensive zone engagement, especially in terms of boxing out guys in front of the net. I think a voice like his could be huge in the blackhawks locker room as we address our defensive struggles.

Good idea. I'd like a former NHL d-man like Stevens as a coach.

If I'm not mistaken, the logic for searching for a new assistant coach for Colliton is someone to work with the forwards and PP unit given that Brookbank is already working with the blueliners and PK. So if that's the case, then Stevens wouldn't be a candidate.

Still like your idea, though, as I'm not sure how effective Brookbank has been in his brief stint so far in that defined coaching role.

Hard to grade Brookbank considering what he is working with: A combination of kids, players scared of their shadow and players well beyond their prime.

I think if their plan was to draft Caufield, they will trade down and collect more draft picks
- BetweenTheDots

I believe that may be an option, i.e. if the prospect that Bowman, Kelley, etc. want as the team's 1st pick is likely to be selected later in the round, then trade the #3 for that later 1st rounder + another asset or two.

I've always liked David Savard. Big bodied d-man who can skate and defend well.

Yes, good point. He definitely needs a larger sample size with a better defensive corps. Hopefully the latter comes into shape this summer.

WOW-should have been a penalty on CBJ. What are the refs watching?

Breadman scores in a most unusual fashion.

True enough. I do like him, he's a fun guy, but Stevens was a hoss in his day, wouldn't mind him passing some of that onto our guys.

The style of play in this series between BOS/CBJ would just decimate a team like the Hawks.

Yep, sad to say. But the Hawks would get murdered by these two teams playing like this.

A couple years ago ANA tried to check the Hawks defense out of the game, but the four horsemen (Keith, Seabrook, Hjarlmarsson, and Oduya) were up to the task.

The current roster? They’d poop their pants and cough up turnovers.

Scott Stevens was the best open-ice hitting defenseman I’ve ever watched play.

Yep, good times. Ryan Kesler had some smartass comment that the Hawks wouldn't be able to withstand the hitting. The four horsemen were magical in that post season, especially #2.

On another note, does ANYONE have ANY idea what Charlie Coyle was thinking? Holy smokes, what a hilariously horrible play. Breadman with another.

When I read in the Athletic and other places, people outside Chicago keep saying they think it happens but I just don't see it and hope it won't. If there were no Cap, sure, but I'd rather see them spend on a few players than just the one.
