Dumo, Rust +. Then flip Schultz for a second pairing LD.

Let’s not forget that Schultz’ trade value is probably lower than its ever been here in Pitt and he doesn’t have term. There are SO MANY good young defensemen coming up. I’m not sure who would be actively trying to go after Schultz unless they lose a defensemen. It would obviously be a playoff team or a team looking to return to the playoffs

I’m a big Pavelski fan. Love Jumbo too, but Pavs is a big part of the Team USA that I fell in love with in Sochi. Ultimately I want the Sharks to win, and if I were to pick a team out of the East it’d be Caroline too, but I can’t help but root for this run CBJ is having.

I really like Pavs too... And Burns, Vlasic and Karlsson. Also, I do feel a little bad about how bad the Pens annihilated them in the 2016 final haha. They deserve it.

They key for them is cost controlled. They might not even want Schultz or Maatta. Maybe the demand is Dumoulin, Petts, and Rust for the rights to Trouba. These (Rust to a lesser extent) are the kinds of guys they’d be looking for imo

Dumo and Rust + is a pretty damn good return for an RFA looking for a big contract. We can't afford to give up Pettersson. Especially when were carrying JJ and Guddy. I'd still buyout JJ. His buyout is manageable.

Schultz is a coveted PM RHD. Somebody will definitely want him.

JJ or not he wasn’t a great puck mover this year and he still turns the puck over a ton. I don’t think I would use the word “coveted” for Schultz. Dumoulin would have more value IMO. Like I said, I don’t know who would be looking to add him. Which teams have room in their top 4?

He only played a few weeks into the season then returned from a nasty knee injury in February. If my memory serves me correctly he played very well when he first came back, so well I was suprised. Usually players losing months and months of game time don't come back as sharp as he did. He had like 8 or 9 points in his first 9 games, or maybe a period of 8 or 9 games like that shortly after getting back. Towards the very end of season and into playoffs he was lackluster, no doubt...but why?

I think right handed Dmen with his skill set are somewhat coveted in the league. Maybe not highly but there are definitely a number of teams that would want him IMO.

I want him to stay.

I'm curious to see what happens with Dzingel. I'm sure he will get overpaid, but he's a guy that I think would be the type of player they should target.

Schultz trade value is very high right now. Teams will value him heavily as a rental where they might not be so sure about him on a long term deal.

Hahaha I like/dislike individuals more than teams nowadays. Except the flyers. (frank) them.
