Some GM with a truculence boner would take Lucic for $2m in a heartbeat. Just take him for free - jcragcrumple
If you can get that down to say $1m, I'm in.
Pair him with Kadri and let's go to war! |

If you're talking about Kane, that's one thing.
If you're saying they're instructing the GM's who to trade, trade for, draft, cut, etc etc etc, then I'll challenge that. |

I've also spoken to her, at length, a few times (I used to blog for a Sabres-related website) and she was nothing but gracious, humble and intelligent. Actually, they both are.
A kind of, you know they're filthy rich (they have that air about them) but it's not gone to their heads.
And personally, I couldn't give two sh!ts if they want to sit in on the NFL draft, the NHL trade deadline or whatever. If they're curious or just want to learn more, that's their right as owners and more power to them (I'd love to sit in on any of those events). They're certainly not making on-field or on-Ice personnel decisions. - Powerslave
Good post
I think it's funny when something bad happens, it's her call.
When we stay put and get Oliver at 9, no credit.
Shes either over managing or under managing , depending on the outcome. |

Common sense.
If, IF, the Kane story is true, then eff him. He should be gone. If that was my daughter, yeah, adios.
However,
Do you really think they're instructing the GM's in general on what players to get rid of and bring in, via trade, draft, free agency, etc? |

I liked the Oliver pick. Was hoping he’d be there at 10 for the Broncos. I was hoping for Hockenson or Oliver but ended up getting Fant and an extra 2nd rounder so can’t complain too much. - Pegullaville
I liked the trade down by the Broncos yesterday.
Possibly getting the best tight end in the draft?
Nice move by elway and company
Mocks had the Bill's taking fant at 9 |

I think it's an interesting approach. I just think you're drawing an interesting line that I'm not sure I agree with. If Lucic is easy to move at 1/3 of his salary, then why is 1/2 hard? I don't think you could pull this off as cleanly as you'd like. - Lunaion
Lucic at $3m is overpaid
Lucic at $2m is intriguing to someone. Not to you or to me, but there is some GM that would scoop that up |

so you've never met Kim Pegula (who was raised in Fairport, New York) and don't know whether she's even making decisions for the team as of at least a year ago.
Maybe you can explain what it is about this woman that made you think it was right to attribute a quote to her that went beyond "Ri Ruv Ru rand rour roney Rerry."
If you can make that link, I'll take racism off the table altogether. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Kim as a female owner has a different "rule book" to follow.
If some guy is out being accused of sexual assault ect., she needs to speak up and get him out of her organization.
Ek9 needed to go.

You don't find that a very arbitrary line that gets muddied a lot when other salaries would inevitably be involved?

I think it's pretty well established that they (the Pegulas) made the decision to ship off Kane and draft Allen in the last year.
That's pretty hands on even if those two examples are their only involvement. Those decisions should be left to the GM, Coach or Scouting Department.
I doubt highly that Kim is in the war room dictating. I would assume, based on reports throughout their ownership, that they do play a significant role in big decisions for each club. That's probably hurt us more than it's helped thus far. |

It's an arbitrary line in the sense that it's just a number. My gut feeling is that if you asked 31 GMs whether they would take Lucic for $2m and give up nothing, 5-6 would say yes. I have nothing to back that up, but I do actually believe it |

So then you don't know. Got it.
Yes, I believe they banished Kane and ROR. Both embarrassed the organization and them by extension. However, they put their GM in a bad situation, especially with the ROR deal by needing it done before the $10m bonus due.
Do I think they say call up Nylander for the next 6 games, no.
Like you, I would be in the draft rooms and asking g questions to gain clarity and understand strategies. I have absolutely no issue with that. |

Oh I believe they meddel.
I think it's odd when someone chastises another because there is absolutely no proof to bear, when their position i based on "common sense". I mean, there are the Daniel Snyders and Jerry Jones of the ownership rank. It happens. To deny it out of hand is just as crazy. |
