So then you don't know. Got it.
Yes, I believe they banished Kane and ROR. Both embarrassed the organization and them by extension. However, they put their GM in a bad situation, especially with the ROR deal by needing it done before the $10m bonus due.
Do I think they say call up Nylander for the next 6 games, no.
Like you, I would be in the draft rooms and asking g questions to gain clarity and understand strategies. I have absolutely no issue with that. - IonSabres
they also told rex ryan to bench tyrod for week 17 vs the jets
he refused so he got fired 1 week early and a yes man was coaching the bills and cardelle jones was qb |

That yes man is the HC of the Chargers and Rex talks on TV now. Also, Tyrod came back the next year and everything was fine. Does anything in that example matter? |

I was really excited when they bought the Sabres. Finally a loaded owner with sentimental ties to the club meant we didn't need to worry about the Sabres being sold and moved. I wanted to see what Darcy could do with the financial restraints removed.
I had hoped they would surround themselves by knowledgeable hockey minds and then sit back and watch the magic happen.
8 years later, the team is so completely mismanaged I have become jaded that they will ever get it right.
Something ain't right in Pegulaland.
I don't know to the degree they meddel, so I can't speak to it factually.
But connecting the dots leads me to a place where I believe they do so .
The only consistency from day 1 8 years ago is them.
They maybe rich, considerate, nice, honest folks.
But man the Sabres have fallen to a very low level under their reign... they have become Edmonton East. |

I'm surprised nobody is discussing how pumped ed Oliver was to become a buffalo bill.
That was awesome:
He wishes he was here already. Said immediately after being picked.
Prayed that the Bill's would pick him
Loved the new pegula training facility
Shouted out to the billsmafia
Talked about the fans breaking tables
He was ready to go.

Good post.
I'm hoping it's just the "well studied" how to win a championship without short cutting. Pittsburgh's model with some bad lottery luck and drafting

Blaming ownership is easy.
They trusted Darcy. They gave him the money to spend to cap ceiling. leino and Ehrhoff didn't work.
Darcy told them to tank
Darcy fired
It's hard to believe, but GMTM was seen as an up-and-comer, and a real keen draft mind.
That was a disaster.
They hired another up-and-comer in JB and Housley.
All of these hires were seen as good, solid choices by the hockey establishment. They haven't worked. Blaming ownership is the new "blame Russ Brandon."
It's a convenient scape goat |

Were Darcy or Murray fired too quickly? How about Housley, Whaley or Rex?
Again, all of the people they've hired came with name cache. They gave these people unlimited resources. They have let the Pegulas down |

They sat TT that last games because of fear of injury which would likely have tied him to the Bill's for a couple more seasons.. therefore. They avoiding the risk of being tied into him longer-term instead of having contractual flexibility there.
And Rex was their pick of head coach.
If 90% of the fans recognized Rex as a blowhard, why couldn't they see it, why did they select him? |

After marrone jilted us, Rex was a logical pick. Brash, cocky. Seen as a real defensive guru.
And fans LOVED Rex when he first got here.

Well, easy to blame ownership when they were in complete control of those disastrous hires.
Who else you going to blame, Trump?

they wanted disco sucks
your making my point
let someone who has been in the hockey and football business their entire lives buffer between the gm and the owners
trust your hockey and football vp who has experience
instead they hire who they want and 2 years later can them and repeat

No accountability at the top for making all these poor choices. It was them who hired nearly all of them. But we want their underlings to be held accountable.
Got it.
