A good portion of those on this board in September/ October wanted "McStupid" poop canned along with Beaner. No trust that they would execute solidly in FA and have a solid draft.

The proof will be revealed in August/September, but so far so good.
Tonight will be an opportunity for them to shine.
I'd love to see a couple of moves to get a WR and an OL or TE.
JJ Arcega-Whiteside interests me as a strong red-zone target.

Botts still has a ton of work to do. If he didn't draft Dahlin, he would have been fired. UPL, though promising, is still too far away from being a difference maker. Casey didn't develop where he likely should have (probably the coaching staff to blame, or Berglund leaving and having no back up plan). Skinner deal needs to get done sooner than later. The coach hire needs to happen sooner than later.

There's too many questions for me to label him as an excellent GM, but he's done pretty well in some areas.

Botts didn’t sign any free agents, didn’t make any knee jerk trades, watched the ship sink. He could of spent a boatload of money and made trades to affect our draft position last year.

If he gets the blame for the ship sinking this year why doesn’t he get credit for watching it burn on our way to Dahlin ?
