You are acting like u do know that they’re still interfering though

Can your source shed some light on the subject?

how am I acting like they are now?

I made it clear that in the past they got WAY more involved then they needed to be and I made it clear, we should not be wasting away what few years we have with eichel left while she is learning on the job

1.) I get what you’re saying
We don’t have to get rid of Okposo to bring those guys up though... do we?

2.) We can wait 1 year, and potentially not have his Cap hit affect at all after that

3.) And if u want him off the roster than bad,
U could always bury him like Moulson
And that would only cost us 1mil more than your proposal

- jdfitz77

1.) If we enacted this plan, moving Okposo pays for their salaries, and frees up the roster space. Putting them in his PP spot and his bottom-6 role puts them in a better position to succeed. If he stays, he cannibalizes their PP production (olofsson) and ice time (smith), thus lowering their effectiveness. Without him, they almost certainly achieve more.

2.) That's a pretty big assumption that there's A.) Gonna be a lockout, and B.) Going to be a compliance buyout

3.) My plan saves us more money, so why would we want to save less money? Also, this way, he gets to continue his NHL career with no hard feelings.

Again, moving Okposo for nothing, saving $2m, and no impact beyond the length of his contract. I feel like this should be a no-brainer

Curious what you think Lucic brings back? Even with double retention, I'd still think bad salary comes back.

I've also spoken to her, at length, a few times (I used to blog for a Sabres-related website) and she was nothing but gracious, humble and intelligent. Actually, they both are.

A kind of, you know they're filthy rich (they have that air about them) but it's not gone to their heads.

And personally, I couldn't give two sh!ts if they want to sit in on the NFL draft, the NHL trade deadline or whatever. If they're curious or just want to learn more, that's their right as owners and more power to them (I'd love to sit in on any of those events). They're certainly not making on-field or on-Ice personnel decisions.

Well i laid out a potential option where in only 1 year, his Cap hit would no longer affect us

And if the compliance buyout doesn’t happen, then we could still make the move u suggest

Waiting 1 year to find out won’t kill us

And like i said...
if u really need him off the roster right now,
u can always bury him

Rushing to make a move that costs us $4mil in dead $$$ is a bad idea

And again....
I HIGHLY doubt that Botts would even consider it

This is how you’re acting like they’re still making decisions

Can’t u find out from your source if they’re still involved like this?
Is Botts a “puppet” or is he really making the decisions?

I’m genuinely curious

Some GM with a truculence boner would take Lucic for $2m in a heartbeat. Just take him for free

Ok...
can we move on to finding out from your source if they still are?

Bc if they are getting involved,
that’s obviously concerning

good, there is a black man in my wedding photo, he is standing to the right of me as my best man

just because I despise 1 woman who happens to be Korean descent, does not make me a racist

- homiedclown

I am not a racist either, if PK was pasty white he still can’t play defense and makes $9M a year. I was just a little confused about that response to my post.

I liked the Oliver pick. Was hoping he’d be there at 10 for the Broncos. I was hoping for Hockenson or Oliver but ended up getting Fant and an extra 2nd rounder so can’t complain too much.

A bit extreme, but .... alright do it, give him a sedative first though, let's try to be somewhat humane.

I think it's an interesting approach. I just think you're drawing an interesting line that I'm not sure I agree with. If Lucic is easy to move at 1/3 of his salary, then why is 1/2 hard? I don't think you could pull this off as cleanly as you'd like.
