The snake bite

Injury-wise yes, I wish he was half as solid defensively

Salo was a rock back there until he broke

I don't know why people keep saying Benning is good at drafting, it's only got good since Brackett took charge of the draft in the last 2 years.

Plus it’s not like the Bruins drafting has gotten worse since Benning left, they keep finding talent in the draft.

TBH I think they are a good duo. I like them bouncing ideas off of each other. I remember watching one video where Brackett wanted a goalie and Jim said no.

Was that the Madden pick? I've always been curious about the goalie because Brackett said he was their top ranked goalie.

I still like the idea of bringing in a president/GM duo who are good at identifying smart scouts/coaches/managers and are better at building a NHL roster and keeping Brackett on as head scout.

A good front office needs some specialists instead of scouts and whatever the hell Weisbrod is, I'm now understanding why Burke had no idea what his role was in Calgary, he's been here since Benning's first year and we still don't really know either

But they took a goalie with their last pick, I like the quote "it's up to Judd"

Gillis to me doesn't scream a guy who knows who the best scouts are. I was reading he has 3 of 39 picks playing in the NHL

just rewatched it, Brackett brought up Madden and then asked that if their #1 goalie is there, who they should take.

I think after the top pick, Brackett basically tells Jimbo who their top 2 or 3 guys are and what type of players they are and Jim gives his opinion on what position/type of player he prefers out of that small group.

He hired Brackett so I wouldn't write him off completely, I think his bigger issue is that he didn't let the scouts do their jobs until like the last year or 2 of his tenure since he tried to bring moneypuck into drafting which is not the best idea. I doubt the scouts loved the idea of drafting 19 year olds from the QMJHL.

Just like Benning should stay the hell away from NHL moves/UFA's, Gillis should stay the hell away from the draft process. Let the more qualified guys run the drafts.

Brackett has been with the club for years, this Brackett is in charge, Brackett is a drafting wizard, narrative is getting overblown.

Yes I know he was made head of scouting a couple of years ago, but is everyone saying the guy just sat on his hands for a decade until he was put in charge.

Complete and utter BS.

They are a team, they do collaborate, but hey Benning is an idiot and Brackett a god, good grief

16 Amateur scouts. 1 head scout, 1 asst gm, 1 Gm, 1 president, 1 AHL Gm all seem to be in the process here

If you are wondering Brackett was promoted so he was in the room previous drafts.

He did play much better, but I cannot believe he is team Canada caliber defence man, that’s the desperation part.
