I got to skim through watching the Russian game yesterday and I didn't move Podkolzin from where I have slotted but I did think he's as good as people that have him at 3oa. (Not me) but people that worry about his production in this tournament in in the MHL, KHL, VHL. As of right now he has the same as many points VS 20 year olds that he has against 18 year olds.

I was not basing my opinion on points. I think he has an injury if not mistaking. I just don't really think he has shown slick moves.

He is responsible in both ends and is a decent top 15 guy. There is also the Russian factor. I just see the Americans head and shoulders above the rest and would take them before him.

9th is high - i'd expect him to go in the low 20s. But he took a huge impressive step forward this season. Outscored Foudy, Boqvist and Bouchard - on a pretty good Knights team. I could see Ana or Pitts taking him.

I heard a few things about his game from a few guys like Biech and Robinson(Minivans buddies) and they said buyer beware basically. Then I watched him play two playoff games and was not impressed at all.

I don't like guys that skate standing straight up when they don't have the puck.

I am not a draft expert by any means so it is just my preference , nothing more.

We aren't really that much different than the Canucks scouts together. They all have different opinions on players. They see different things and personally when someone likes a prospects, i'm going to go look at that player and see what they are seeing. It may or may not change my opinion on a prospect but I don't have to change my list if I don't want too.

Everyone has a different take and choices . It makes it interesting. I know you do your homework on this and we seldom agree but I always know it is well thought out.

Robert Thomas 66 points in 66 games plus 39 (first season 33 points in 70 games) Taken 20th. Currently 4th in scoring in his draft.

Max Domi 87 points in 64 games plus 33 (Just had a 70 point season) Taken 13th and is 7th in scoring in draft year 15 points behind Bo in 70 less games.

Bo Horvat 61 points in 67 games plus 3 (Just had 60 point season) Taken 9th and is 6th in scoring in his draft year. Soon to be passed by the guy above.

McMichael 72 points in 67 games plus 15. He started to play 3rd line in the playoff for some reason and they started to lose. I don't see him as a centre in the NHL though.

Looking at London's history for churning out top forwards that don't seem to get the love but still produce.

Edit: I do agree he may go a lot lower but I do rankings not mock drafts now a days. Too many players I dislike I have to rank is too annoying

Yeah you gotta factor in everything - these kids play in very different environments/leagues. Plus the tourneys - like Suzuki for example didn't have a great WJ18 but was really impressive (playmaking) at the Hlinka. Podkolzin had 2A but is speculated he's injured, he had 8g in 5gms at the Hlinka. It's hard to project - hell, Lias Andersson looked deadly at the WJ20s, decent in the AHL but certainly hasn't looked good in the NHL - yet.

Thats funny i haven't heard that comparison but i have heard "he's the Jake Virtanen of defence" I don't see why he'd go in the top 10 , and I dont see why we'd take another LHD and a mediocre one at that. It would be a colossal disappointment if we choose him at 10, maybe in the 2nd.

He and soderstrom may both go top 10. Both will go top 15. Outside of Byram, they are the class of the draft. If you were watching this gold medal game you would see why.
