Did you move to Edmonton - VANTEL
Much of inland BC gets more snow than the Edmonton region. South Cariboo gets just as cold being a high plateau. Except it breaks +40 some summers unlike Deadmonton.

Agree with everything except the 2020 pick. The draft is simply to strong to risk a lottery pick - CanuckDon
Teams still a bit away from where they want to be so using our 2020 first rounder to improve in the now is silly. Canucks need two top six wingers and a top four defenseman.
They could draft Boldy, sign Karlsson, and be in a good position to be more competitive next season.
I don’t know how realistic it is to sign Karlsson but he’s only 28 right now so you’re going to get at the very least five good years out of him on a seven year deal. With a front loaded contract it’s not an issue.
He’s skating on one leg with his current groin issues and he’s still outstanding out there. |

I hear ya! Not really sticking but went out to my car this morning in my shorts and shirt and thought I was in a time warp. |

I think the range should be 23 or some combination of being 23 at some point during the season.
Dude is the same age as Jeff skinner who has been in the league for 9 years
Didn't some guy for Calgary win the calder at like 33 years old? Parameters for who is considered a rookie need to be changed. - classic321
Sergei Makarov won it at 31 years old, they changed the rules after that. Ed Belfour won it the next year at 25. |

What would it take for you guys to trade Markstrom? Like pick/prospect wise.
He's one of the few true veteran "sell high" candidates at 29 years old and coming off of what is considered to be his best season.
It's a ballsy move since you put a lot of faith into Demko moving forward, and would have to go into free agency needing to sign a goalie to split starts with him. |

I think you would need to put a name behind the other side of the deal. I think when you trade Markstrom you are basically saying I don't think we have a chance next year we are looking to the future. |

Maybe. But if Demko is the real deal then I don't see why he can't emerge next year or the year after. He does turn 24 later this year, he lacks NHL experience but he's done his time in the AHL and is old enough for an expanded NHL role.
If you could trade Markstrom to a team like Columbus(if Bob leaves) or Ottawa for a decent price/younger asset, I'd pull the trigger.
I really don't care about next year as much as most Canuck fans do so it's easier for me to suggest shopping Marky |

I’m with you, if someone is willing to give you a good young player or a top end of the second round pick I’d do it. Go with Demko, sign a good backup. |

I have no idea if Demko is the real deal or not . He has played 10 games . I seen Blackwood go through a 10 game stretch and he looked like the real deal and then was sent down.
Demko should play 25-30 games this year not 40 or more. I have seen Demko go really cold for stretches in Utica and that was last year. I really thing you are way too soon with this move |

I think people are crazy if they think Markstrom has much value. He had a great year but goalies usually don't fetch much unless they are considered one of the next elites. Marky has been too inconsistent over his career.
To answer your question I would be happy with a 2nd or a good prospect. I wouldn't be upset if they moved him for less.
I guarantee next year there will be a different goalie who has a season like Markstrom and another like Binnington. Goalies are impossible to predict and there are only a few that year in and out can be counted on to perform.
I do hope they try to move Marky and would much prefer the team run with a Vet and Demko.
They need to figure out what Demko is and he only played like 20 games between AHL and NHL last year.

It's about time we cashed in on moving our assets at the right time, Tanev's value has dropped 50%. |

Careful. If they trade Markstrom this off season, we may end up with Bobrovsky on big long term contract.

Send him back to Florida, Lu can back him up from his couch on LTIR.
Edit, forgot they’ll most likely sign Bob. |

Yes, only his second contract with minimal games played, good value at 1 million. Not unlike the two year deal they gave Markstrom I think? |

We believe that you are the goalie now and in the future . We want to extend you two years
It must have been an impressive 10 NHL games .
They gave Markstrom a three year deal and it was when he was the back up |

Lou won't go on LTIR from what I've read. We will see what happens with Bob but it sounds like that's where he will go.
The question Benning should be asking Tallon is what will you throw in for us to take Reimer's salary.
Tippett would be my target.
Lind for Reimer and Tippett.
