other than Eichel, skunk and skinner, who on that team took an offensive step forward?...

If they sign him to a 2-3 year contract, I will be the only guy in KBC with an Erod jersey next year.

I wonder what kind of trade value Bogo might have?
Teams are almost always looking for decent RH defensemen
And he was pretty decent for the most part last year
He should be back around the start of the season
Maybe we could get something decent for him? |

2yr./$4.5M contract extension to anchor the third pairing and pk?...I think that's reasonable until Borgen develops - Michael Pachla
This season + 2 more, do you expect him to play over 120 games total? Feels like a coin toss. That's why I want nothing to do with him.

He's out 5-6 months from a week ago, so September 18-October 18 + getting back into game shape. TDL will be our chance imo |

the sabres 2020-21 d-corps, (minus Ristolainen too)
Dahlin-???
Montour-???
???-???
fill in the blanks - Michael Pachla
Well Pilut should be there. I assume they try and add a D man this offseason.
But I’d assume Borgen, Laaksonen, Bryson, all have a shot in 2-3 years. Samuelsson is there too.

We don’t have anyone in the system that can be RD 1
Maybe in time Borgen develops into a solid defense first type that would pair well with Dahlin
But for 20-21, that’s too much of an ask
Looks like we need to bring someone in,
or try Risto with Dahlin & see how that works
For LD 2,
I don’t think Pilut’s play style matches well with Montour. I’d like to see a more defensive guy. So unless we bring someone in, I’d use McCabe there for a couple more years while we continue to develop Samuelsson to eventually take over
LD3 seems like a great spot for Pilut
RD3 could be Borgen/Laaksonen
*one of these guys could also be a piece to help us get a guy to pair with Dahlin
I don’t think the Ducks are done making moves- i like Josh Manson a lot |

A deadline trade probably is what will happen
I guess I’m hoping someone out there would think he can get back early enough that they’d make a move for him |

I figured u wouldn’t like that idea
Pretty small sample size of them together though, right?
If we don’t trade Risto,
It’s worth giving them an extended look together just to see if it works
That’s if we don’t trade Risto,
which i know is definitely your preference
If we do...
it better be for a GOOD return |

Don't worry he will be hurt at that time! This year when he finally started to play and was playing pretty decent I was praying for them to move him. I knew he would be hurt again before the season ended. |

Might be hard for someone his size to be more than a depth player as a defenseman
But I’ve heard some scouts talk about how impressed they were with him & think he does have a shot to be a good NHLer |

If we can’t move him,
I’d play him again with Dahlin
They seemed to do pretty well together for the most part
Maybe we can keep him on the ice long enough to move him? |

As of right now, next year’s Defense imo should be:
Dahlin-Risto/Bogo
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Bogo/Risto
Hunwick-Nelson
Idk wtf happened to Scandella,
but he’s gotta go
Maybe if we keep some salary there’s a team that would take him as a bottom pair guy? |

This coming season?
Still in College i think
1 more year there
Then Rochester for a year or 2
I think his development is gonna take a bit |

I would just pair Dahlin with a player who can play a simple game and let him be great.
Perfect scenario is finding a Hjalmarsson/Vlasic type.
A less perfect scenario is Nelson/Borgen.

If we could get Cirelli + Gourde and Callahan/Miller for Risto and a guy + a pick, I would consider a Trouba for Reinhart type deal
It would make over the team
There's a lot there I know haha
Trouba and Dahlin would be great |

Dahlin-Bogo
McCabe-Montour
Pilut-Risto
Makes the most sense but with Bogo’s surgery and Risto possibly being moved there can be a lot of moving parts.
Borgen will most likely be ready at some point during the 19-20 season if not forsure by 2020-2021. Bryson, Samuelsson, Laaksonnen should be ready by 2021-2022 |

IMO Dahlin is the caliber that you can put an average puck mover with him and that would make an elite pairing.
Then put Montour+ someone like Trouba to make an excellent second pairing

Maybe. If there's a better solution. I'm for it. Just don't want to put the youngins in a situation they're not ready for. See Mitts |
