Skinner-Eichel-Thompson
Olofsson-FA/Trade-Reinhart
Sheary-Mittelstadt-Donskoi
Tanev-Erod-Okposo
Package Nylander with something to bring in a d-man or possibly the 2C/3C that we need. - Pegullaville
You really don't think they'll be fighting with Thompson and Olofsson in that scenario? Thompson looked dreadful in his time with Eichel. I think there's plenty of reasons to think a quality two way player, like Donskoi, would fit well there.

Tanev is meant for the bottom 6. If anyone should be scared of us bringing in Tanev it would be Sheary. Sheary to me is fine on the third line but is not strong enough defensively to be in a shutdown role nor does he bring enough offence to be a reliable top 6 contributor. If Olofsson doesn’t grab a top 6 role out of camp he would probably be back in Rochester until he is ready to do so, in that case Sheary could hold the fort until that happens. Donskoi is versatile and can play anywhere in the lineup and could easily play alongside Skinner and Eichel and play the “hyman” role so to speak.
If Thompson makes the most out of this offseason and comes into camp next year 15 pounds heavier I think he will surprise people. He lost all of his confidence being in and out of the lineup here and you can’t teach height or reach. He has good hands, a good shot (when he hits the net), and if he puts on weight will be able to play that sort of game in the pros that he did against peers his own age. |

I like Thompson as a prospect. Eichel is not easy to play with and I don't think he mixes well with him.
I'm far from an expert on Tanev, but didn't he play RW primarily this year?
I don't like Sheary on this team at all. We have a half-dozen LW's in the same mold. Something needs to be done to address that. If Skinner, Sheary, and Olofsson are your top 3 LW's, then you've got a big problem.

Id offer 3-4 years at 2-3 mil for Donskoi, and hopefully by year 2-3 he’s on our 3rd line. I’d of course rather have a legit 30 goal scorer there but we don’t know if that’s truly an option - sbroads24

Yes but he’d be our best bottom 6 forward the day he signed his deal. Everyone loves Erod but realistically he’s a 4th line guy but our bottom 6 is so bad that we treat the guy like he’s our Nazem Kadri. - Pegullaville
Ok... but we can’t just keep adding bottom6 guys unless we are subtracting some too |

I’ve brought up Tanev a few times as well. Adding him and Donskoi and removing Girgensons, Sobotka and that’s a huge difference already. A third or 4th line of Tanev-Erod-Donskoi would be beautiful. - Pegullaville
I could get down with that |

Sign them today are they are pushing for top 6 roles. Not saying that's good. - Lunaion
That’s what I’m worried about
We already have the problem where we are playing ppl above where they should be
I also wanna leave room to get some of the kids into the lineup too |

2 hip surgeries in less than 15 months does not bode well for Bogo. He'll be a part time player next year, maybe a trade deadline trade and doubtful he'll be signed with Borgen and Laaksonen waiting in the wings. |

Like it or not, the players in that room really like him. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was re-signed at obviously half his salary. |

Trouba and EK are nice thoughts for sure, just don't see it. Risto has a 60/40 chance of getting moved so not the greatest odds of a trade, although if they trade for Letang those odds go up. Letang has a M-NTC so that will complicate things.
I think Scandella gets traded before Risto.
Best guess on next year's D
Dahlin
Pilut
Montour
Risto
McCabe
Nelson
Bogo- IR
UFA- Nemeth, Chiarot. McQuaid
20/21 D
Dahlin
Pilut
Montour
McCabe
Borgen
Risto?

*this could be the year they go after a higher priced D man |

I get that. They have some young RD that should be ready to make the jump for 20/21 though and would rather a guy like Borgen get his chance in the lineup. |

Joking ? Not sure but that's why I watched it "live" as well - for once.
OMG that episode was freaking awesome. I wanna watch it again but this time, adjust my TV's settings so I can actually see what's going on. It was so hard to see everything - was that intentional or did they eff up ? Anyway, GREAT episode ! |

At this point, I would be shocked if he's still here. He's the only valuable player they can move. If Scandella gets moved, it's for a 4th or 5th round pick |

That's fair. If he's moved for a 2C, they will have a hole at RD that needs to be filled and I don't see a big name free agent coming here. I actually think Scandella has some trade value around the league. It hasn't worked for him here but prior to that he was a decent, minute eating dman for the Wild who could chip in the offense. |

I was a pretty big fan of Scandella in '17-'18. I thought he was solid, if unspectacular. Last year was a mess, but maybe that was just Housley. I don't know what happened. Some speculated that he lost a step, but I'm not sure if that's true, or if he just lost the plot? |

Everyone wants the young guys to play, but teams value veteran presence much more than fans. All of these playoff teams have a healthy mix of vet and young. Do we want Jake McCabe to be the elder statesman back there? Eh.. |

It could be Housley's system was not a good fit for him. He just might need another change. Montreal has a lot of picks in this draft (10), maybe they would be interested. |
